One Game Ban For Townsend

Michael Townsend will serve a one match ban for getting two yellow cards in the match with Plymouth this afternoon.

It is the first red card for a Bulls player this season after having seven dismissed last term. He will miss the Boxing Day match with Port Vale as a result.

Ryan Green's absence today, through illness, is hoped to be a short term issue otherwise the Bulls may be struggling to field a central defensive partnership next week. Benoit Dalibard partnered Townsend at the back today, and he is expected to continue alongside Green next week with Stefan Stam yet to be ready.

Should Green also be unavailable, boss Jamie Pitman may opt to push Stam back into action early with few other options available. Young trialist Kern Miller cannot play until January and, while the option is probably available, they are unlikely to want to recall Janos Kovacs from his loan at Luton after agreeing a permanent January deal.
