Relive 1972 with Hereford United

Hereford United have announced details of three events to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the FA Cup defeat of Newcastle United at Edgar Street.

Details of three events planned for the 40th Anniversary Celebrations of Hereford United's famous 2-1 win over Newcastle United.

Hereford United are holding three events in the newly-opened Starlite Rooms to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the FA Cup giantkilling over Newcastle United in February 1972.

Cinema Night - Reflections of 1972 - Tuesday 7th February 6pm showing and 8pm showing. Relive the action with 35 minutes of highlights from the game, complete with John Motson commentary, rarely seen footage of the trip to West Ham United in the following round, and interview with Colin Addison.

The evening will be introduced by Colin Addison in person. The film, complete with music from the era, will be shown on a big screen in the Starlite Rooms.

'An Evening with The Giantkillers' - Friday 10th February

Join members of the giantkilling team for a buffet meal and question and answer session.

The giantkillers will be at the Starlite Rooms to reflect on United's famous 2-1 win over Newcastle. Chat with your boyhood heroes and then sit back and listen as members of the squad give their personal account of how the cup run changed their lives.

Grand Gala Dinner - Saturday 11th February

A formal evening of celebrations with the giantkilling squad, and after dinner speaking.

Enjoy a three-course meal and celebrate the anniversary in style. Tickets cost £50 and places will be limited. To register your interest please contact the club on 0844 76 1939.
