REFRESHMENTS. There is a club at the ground but visiting supporters are not admitted. The nearest Pub to the ground is The Crown, which is now owned by the Football Club and is behind the ground in the main Whalley Road. The atmosphere is usually good with plenty of friendly banter and the added bonus of full whippet racing and clog dancing instruction. The Greyhound is a little further down the same road as is The Castle Hotel. The Whitakers Arms is situated just 200 yards away from the old Peel Park ground from the 1960's era of Stanley, so you football historians out there may want to take a peek at that. They do a selection of home cooked meals in the pub or restaurant and have great facilities including pool table, beer garden, sky sports, darts and lots more besides. However, for proper ale fans there is an absolute gem of a boozer in Haslingden called The Griffin at 84 Hud Rake, BB4 5AF. Several excellent ales are brewed on the premises. It is well worth a visit and is about a 15/20 minute drive from the ground. The nearest chip shop to the ground appears to be the Oaklea Chippy at 230 Walley Road at the junction with Moss Hall Road.
Enjoy.
