Do-Or-Die Week For Bulls

The Bulls will be drinking in the last chance saloon this week with the bookies already calling time.

Saturday's game with Northampton is an absolute must-win with the Bulls as low as 1/5 for the drop. The gap to 22nd place remains at three points but with just three games remaining, and after the Cobblers the Bulls face a pair of automatic promotion chasers.

For the Cobblers, their focus is already partially on next season. Boss Aidy Boothroyd confirmed to the press that he has begun his end of season appraisals by releasing Jason Crowe and Ryan Gilligan, while Sports Scientist Craig Smith has been recruited to prepare the players for the pre-season schedule.

Before they get to Edgar Street they face Crawley at the Broadfield Stadium, no doubt with at least one of the Bulls' management in attendance, with a Cobblers win probably the best result for the Bulls. That result would make them mathematically safe and dent Crawley's automatic promotion hopes before the Bulls travel to face them.

The Red Devils currently sit three points shy of third placed Torquay - the Bulls other remaining opponents - with the Cobblers' match a game in hand. Losing that, and their game with Dagenham on Saturday, could put them all but out of the automatic promotion race before the visit of the Bulls. And if the Gulls can seal third place before May 5th, the Bulls may hope for an easier ride in their final game.
