Fletcher Fancies His Strikers

Plymouth boss Carl Fletcher believes he has enough firepower in his squad to steer the Pilgrims away from danger. He told the press:

"We've got five strikers and all of them are vying to play, they all want to play and all want to score goals. It's great for me to have the competition for places. They all bring something different which is what I'm pleased with."

The rookie boss singled Preston loan man Juvhel Tsoumou for extra praise after he opened his Pilgrims account with the winner against Bradford last weekend. Of the youngster, Fletcher said:

"Wottsy put in a good ball and Juvhel was free in the box, but he still had to finish it. It was a good header. I was pleased for him because he worked hard up front on his own at Northampton, and in the last couple of games you can see he has grown in confidence. He's still young, but he's big and strong and he's quick,

"I'm pleased he scored because that's what strikers like to do and it breeds confidence."

Fletcher also has experience in his frontline with former Bull Nick Chadwick and Bournemouth loanee Steve Fletcher along with youngsters Alex MacDonald, Jared Sims, and Matt Lecointe.

On the injury front, only loanee winger Joe Lennox is reported to have missed training through illness.
