O'Kelly with the squad after the game
After this afternoon's goal-less draw with Northampton, Richard O'Kelly gave his thoughts on the game to BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"I thought the second half we did really well," said the Hereford United manager.
"We were beaten by the width of the post but we had a few other good opportunities as well, their keeper has made a fantastic save.
"The players responded to what was asked of them at half-time. I sure people must have enjoyed the second half.
"What you are looking to do when you don't score you're looking not to conceed and we did that."
Keith Hall for H&W asked O'Kelly what triggered the more spirited performance in the last half hour of the game.
"I thought the trigger was the start of the second-half. Nicky Featherstone got on the ball a lot and tried to dictate the game.
"We started to get the ball to our front players a little bit better quality. Our back players were using the ball more effectively.
"A couple of subs came on and the crowd, as the Macclesfield score came on, gave us a life as well. That all helped."
