The Bulls entertain Northampton in their penultimate home match of the season.
The Bulls have won on their last three visits to Sixfields, but have not done so well in the Edgar Street encounters. Last season Waide Fairhurst's goal helped the Bulls to a 1-1 draw 14 months ago, while earlier this season the Bulls won 3-1 at Sixfields with Nathan Elder on the scoresheet. Only five of that Cobblers side are likely to play any part in Saturday's game with wholesale changes since Aidy Boothroyd took charge.
The Bulls face potentially their last chance to save their League status. Still three points shy of 22nd place, and now down to just three games remaining, three points are absolutely vital on Saturday. It is hoped that talisman Rob Purdie will be available again after missing the last six games. Since his withdrawal against Southend the Bulls have not won, and collected just two points. However the Bulls are not a one man team and will need the support of the hundreds of extra fans that turned out for the Plymouth match.
The Cobblers were one of the form sides through February and March, pulling themselves clear from the foot of League Two, but they have reverted to their old ways in April. They come to Edgar Street on the back of three straight losses and just one win in six games. Top scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa has 17 League goals, in stark contrast to his strike partner Jake Robinson. The former Shrew is yet to score in 34 appearances for the Cobblers since being a big signing last summer for former boss Gary Johnson.
