Bulls striker Nathan Elder will get a chance to be reunited with Plymouth defender Darren Purse on Friday.
Former Cardiff man Purse was dismissed for a lunge on Elder in the reverse fixture, but the two men saw the event very differently. Purse, with manager Carl Fletcher pondering an appeal at the time, told the press he felt Elder had over-exaggerated the challenge:
"I think their lad has gone down quite easy, and he screamed and shouted for something I didn't catch him with. But, at the end of the day, when you make tackles like that, it gives the referee the opportunity to do what he has done.
"If you're going to make tackles, you've got to win the ball. Nowadays, there are players who will go down and scream as though they have been shot to get people sent off, but that's football."
Elder saw it differently, however. When shown Purse's comments, he responded: "He almost snapped my ankle in half. Can't lunge in like that & stay on the pitch."
Even Plymouth fans tended to agree with the striker after the video replays were aired, and an appeal was never forthcoming.
