St Michaels Hospice, Bartestree, have thanked a group of Hereford United supporters for donating a signed shirt to aid their fund-raising efforts.
A group of 14 members from 'The Meadow End' forum took up the idea of sponsoring a player after it was put forward by 'Gulliver'.
The idea quickly caught on with members contributing between £20 and £30 each for their share of Delroy Facey's away shirt.
After the shirt was handed over to TME's forum moderator, Jon Hale, at the end of the season, members agreed that the shirt should be given to the Hospice.
Stephanie Hinksman from the Hospice has written back expressing their thanks.
I am writing on behalf of St Michaels Hospice to thank you for your kind donation of a signed Hereford United football shirt. We are hoping to be able to offer the shirt as a raffle prize at either our Sue Parry six a side football tournament in July or our summer fete in August, or perhaps an an auction lot at our Michaelmas Auction. Your contribution to our fund-raising is greatly appreciated.
Once again thank you and please accept our good wishes.
