FA Hand Out 3,076 Charges To George Rolls

Current Kettering "Acting Chairman" George Rolls has been handed a total of 3,076 FA charges relating to betting offences.

A statement on the FA website says Rolls, who has previously been involved in Cambridge and Weymouth, has 974 charges relating to infringing betting rules in the 2007/8 season, 1,707 charges for the 08/09 season, and 392 for 09/10.

The charges relate to FA Rule E8:
(a) A Participant shall not, either directly or indirectly, bet, or instruct, permit or enable any person for the Participant’s benefit to bet, on the result, progress or conduct of a Match or Competition in which the Participant is participating or in which the Participant has any influence, either direct or indirect.

Rolls is also charged on three counts of misconduct during the FA investigation. He joined Cambridge's board in 2007, succeeding to the Chairman's role in early 2009 before leaving the club under a cloud in August that year.

Rolls denies all the charges, with a hearing set for July 4th.
