No Bulls Return For Macklin

Lloyd Macklin is unlikely to return to the Bulls anytime soon after Torquay boss Martin Ling removed his name from the transfer list.

The former Swindon man had been pushed out onto the fringes by Ling but, since his stint at Edgar Street, the striker has provided a valuable contribution to the Gulls' pre-season efforts. After Macklin impressed him since returning, Ling told the BBC:

"I said to Lloyd, 'you did the same in the last pre-season and didn't follow it through, you've got to follow it through this year' but he seems to have the bit between his teeth and wants to follow it through.

"You can only judge him on what he does on the football pitch and in the last three games he's had for us he's been good, so I've taken him off the list and put him in our 22-man squad."

Meanwhile, last night's trialist Ashley Sammons was previously trialling with Walsall, having played for them at the weekend.
