Cambridge Axed Money Assistant

Cambridge have made boss Richard Money's assistant redundant to cut costs with falling income.

Nolan Keeley has been let go after a review of budgeting at the Abbey Stadium with falling gates and lower revenue to blame for the move.

Meanwhile Jessica McQueen, Chairman of Saturday's opponents Ebbsfleet, has called on the club's owners to decide if their continued involvement in the club is in it's best interests. McQueen was elected by MyFC members but is a 40 year fan of the club and previously chaired their Supporters Trust, which had to put £9,000 into the club last week.

She told the BBC: "The owners would admit that they have lost members and don't have money to put into the club going forward. There have been some really well-meaning people who have put a huge amount of money into the club.

"But there comes a stage when everyone has to say, 'Is this now in the best interests of the football club?'. I am not the owner and it's not a decision I can make. MyFootballClub have to make those decisions themselves."
