It’s over six years since The Bulls last made the long trip to Northfleet.  The Stonebridge Road ground has been the home of Ebbsfleet (formally Gravesend & Northfleet) since 1946 when Hereford United were the visitors for their debut match in the old Southern League.  Over 5000 supporters packed the ground paying one shilling and threepence (6p today) each to witness a 3-0 home win.  They’ll be lucky to see much more than a tenth of that number on Saturday.  I currently have no information on admission prices.

HUISA – departs from Edgar Street at 8.30am with a fare of £23 (members) or £25 (non-members).  Seats can be booked through The Club office on 08442 761939.

BY CAR – Northfleet is on t’other side of London and, therefore, involves a trip around the glorious M25.  It is on the south side of the Dartford Crossing so an M4 approach would suggest using the anti-clockwise southerly route.  From the M5/M42/M6/M1 or M40 routes it is best to use the clockwise northerly route.

From the north (Dartford Bridge), after coming over the bridge, keep to the left hand lanes and after passing through the toll booths turn left onto the A226, towards Northfleet. Keep on this road until you reach the ground on your left.

From the south, leave the M25 at Junction 2 and take the A2 towards Gillingham. Then take the B262 towards Stone/Greenhithe. At the end of the B262 turn right onto the A226 towards Northfleet & Gravesend. Keep on this road until you reach the ground on your left.

There is some parking behind the Swanscome End at £3 otherwise street parking.  Distance is between 180 and 200 miles depending on route and you should allow upwards of four hours.  Postcode DA11 9GN.

TRAIN - The nearest station to the ground is Northfleet, which is only a few minutes walk away from the ground. The station is served by trains from London Bridge & Charing Cross. Just come straight out of the station and turn left at the top of the road. The ground can be then seen down on the right.

REFRESHMENTS – The area is not blessed with a host of quality Pubs although the George and Dragon near Swanscome Railway Station (ten minute walk from the ground) does offer some hope.  The ‘Fleet Clubhouse inside the ground is probably the best bet so long as segregation is not in force.  There is a chip shop (Sally’s) in Hive Lane just off the High Street in Northfleet.
