News Round-Up

Cambridge have added to their departures by sending midfielder Ricky Wellard to Salisbury for a months loan. The 24 year old was a summer signing from Wimbledon but has played in less than half their matches this season, and is the fourth Cambridge player out on loan. Telford are trialling former Bradford winger Dominic Rowe. He played for their reserves yesterday.

Port Vale have had their takeover confirmed by the Football League. New owner Paul Wildes has paid around £1.25million for the club, and celebrated with a 4-0 home win over Bristol Rovers last night. Nuneaton keeper Neil Collett will go under the knife this week to cure an ongoing knee problem. The surgery will keep him out for at least six weeks after already missing the last two months.

Tamworth have signed keeper James Severn on loan from Scunthorpe for a month. The 20 year old played 3 times for the Lambs on loan from Derby two years ago, and joined the Iron in the summer. Alfreton ended last night's draw with Hyde with just 10 men after losing two central defenders to injury. Leigh Franks is expected to miss at least six weeks with a suspected fractured ankle, while loanee Ross Killock, who had a tooth knocked out and two more dislodged following a stray elbow, is expected to return to Leeds for treatment.
