A major review of expenditure is taking place at Edgar Street according to chairman David Keyte.
One of the first casualties was director of football Gary Peters, but more will follow.
"We shall be beginning a cost-cutting exercise and working through the club from top to bottom over the next days and weeks," Keyte told the Hereford Times.
"Yes, we need more people through the gates but we also have to cut our cloth still further and work on a budget based on gates of 1600."
Keyte and fellow director Dave Preedy met with HUISA last Tuesday evening. Donations are now said to have reached £21K.
"It seemed appropriate that funds raised should go through a body like that.
"So HUISA will tie up with the Vice-Presidents club to set up a steering group."
