Hard Fought Win said Bittner

Asked for his reaction after yesterday's 1-0 win at Aggborough, James Bittner felt it was a 'hard fought win'. The Hereford United keeper saved a penalty and also helped keep out some 16 goal scoring chances by Kidderminster.

"In a way we were a bit upset on Boxing Day, so to come here and get the reverse was a great great win for the lads," Bittner told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"It's always luck with penalties, it always is.

"I thought he ran very straight at the ball, it was either going straight or that side with power, I waited and luckily got my hand to it."

Bittner had to have attention to a cut he originally received on Boxing Day.

"I had a blow on Boxing Day, a few stitches on the pitch.

"It did seem to tug a little bit as I was getting hit left, right and centre but it's fine.

"A bit of blood in the first half so I had to have the tape put on."

Back to the result.

"To come back here and get this sort of victory, a very hard place, and them on such a big run as well, it was a big, big three points and next a hard game at Grimsby on Saturday.

"We'll go into that game a bit more relaxed."

Meanwhile during the second half, a couple of stewards were placed behind Bittner's goal after claims that he was being spat at by fans.
