Luton Allow Beckwith To Leave

Luton have allowed former Bulls defender Dean Beckwith to leave the club by mutual agreement.

The former Gillingham man, 29, made just 21 appearances for the Hatters in 18 months at Kenilworth Road after joining them from Northampton. His contract was due to expire at the end of the season.

He spent four years at Edgar Street, three in the Football League, playing over 150 times for the Bulls.

UPDATE: Beckwith has joined Conf South strugglers Eastleigh on an 18 month contract.

Meanwhile, Portsmouth's Administrator has told the BBC that a number of the club's senior players are to be axed as they look to cut costs with money running tight at Fratton Park.

The ailing League One side has been unable to name a full subs bench in their last three matches, but will rely on the club's young professionals and youth teamers to swell the ranks with the club's future still in the balance. The local press report that the training ground, that the club is leaving at the end of the month, costs them around £500,000 a year to rent and operate.
