News Round-Up

Lincoln boss David Holdsworth has cancelled contract talks with his players after Tuesday's loss to Southport. Most of his squad are out of contract in the summer, but a recent loss of form has prompted Holdsworth to put talks to one side until results improve. The Imps are on the lookout for a new central defender after Scott Garner was ruled out through injury. Grimsby is the preferred destination of striker Ross Hannah, the player has told the local press. He says '3 or 4' other clubs have expressed an interest but a return to the Mariners would be ideal.

Cambridge have cancelled the contract of midfielder Adriano Moke and defender Michael Wylde by mutual consent. Moke spent two months on loan at Tamworth and was due to sign a loan deal there for the remainder of the season, but the deal was never concluded, while Wylde had been on loan at Telford. Huddersfield have reported a loss of £5.7million in achieving promotion from League One last season. Total turnover was just £7.4million, with the club noting that they were paying over £830,000 a year for their stadium.

Newport director Howard Greenhaf has defended the appointment of former Worcester chief Dave Boddy as the club's new Chief Executive. Boddy has received substantial criticism on fans forums for his role at Worcester, but Greenhaf says he is the right man for the job and that the club's Supporters Trust had representatives at the interviews they had with him. Birmingham's accountants have warned that the club needs to find new investment to see out 2013 with new investment from the current owners, who are owed £21million, unlikely.
