Preview: Bulls vs Alfreton

The Bulls entertain Alfreton on Saturday looking for their double of the season.

Back in August Marley Watkins, Sean Canham, and Tom Nichols helped the Bulls to a 3-0 win at the Impact Arena, with the home side ending the game with 10 men. It was the first league meeting between the two sides, having previously been paired in the FA Cup in late 2005. The Bulls won that tie, eventually, on penalties after two drawn matches.

The Bulls will look for a quick response to the dismal performance against Telford on Tuesday. Sam Clucas may be fit to return, with James Musa having been withdrawn with a slight injury, but Will Evans is expected to miss out again. Boss Martin Foyle has said he will seek reinforcements with both Kyle Perry and Simon Hackney departing, but he is expected to continue with Ryan Bowman and Chris Sharp up front.

Alfreton had a stormy game with Wrexham on Tuesday night, eventually capitulating to the ten man opposition late on. Manager, and former Bull, Nicky Law was sent to the stands as both sides fell out with the referee. Law has allowed midfielder Simon Russell to leave the club for Gainsborough as he looks to do his own January fiddling, and his side will be no pushover with them having beaten both Mansfield and Wrexham on the road in recent weeks.

Hereford United vs Alfreton Town, Edgar Street, Saturday 12th December, 3.00pm.
