Point At Grimsby Was 'Extremely Encouraging' said Foyle

As well as speaking to the 'Hereford media', Martin Foyle did an interview with the Grimsby Telegraph after the Bulls had taken a point from the game last Saturday.

"That was extremely encouraging for us when you look at the strength of the Grimsby squad and the players they've just brought in," said the Hereford United manager.

"Scotty and Hursty have done an excellent job, but we've come to Blundell Park and ruffled the feathers a little bit. Grimsby are a decent side and have got some of the better players in the league, but we got in amongst them.

"It wasn't a great start after two minutes and, although I know there is resilience in our group, you can't give good teams a 1-0 lead with such a soft goal.

"We certainly got back into it and I thought we played some good stuff and opened them up a bit.

"But our final ball towards the end of the first half wasn't good enough – the only time we put a decent ball into the box, we scored.

"Jamie Devitt came on in the second half ( in place of former Bull Joe Colbeck) and is a different type of winger and had a couple of chances.

"But after that it settled down and I thought our team shape was excellent.

"It was just pleasing for me that we've fought back against one of the best teams in this league.

"I'm delighted with four points from the last two games, Grimsby and Kidderminster away – I don't think we could have had two harder games on the fixture list at the moment."
