Sinton Seeking Reinforcements

Telford boss Andy Sinton was dejected after Saturday's loss to Southport, acknowledging in his post-match interviews that the second-half collapse of his side "summed us up over the last three months".

"We're not sure how to win, once we get on the pitch. We've gone from really solid, untroubled, to... the run that you're on the first goal is vital. They get it, and the manner they get it, is alarming really.

"Because the confidence is low, we go backwards and within 2, 3 minutes we concede another. If teams were cutting us open, playing us off the park, I could concede that. But it's the manner in which we're conceding. We defend eight or nine times before the goal, but because we're blunt up front it keeps on coming back at us."

Sinton will be working hard up to Tuesday afternoon to bring in new faces to his squad, but he will bring his side to Edgar Street without defender Michael Briscoe with the former Kidderminster man ruled out for the season through injury. Fellow defender Chris Blackburn is also unlikely to travel having been transfer listed last week, while winger Jon Brown left the club last week to move to Thailand.

The former Tottenham player has had a series of knockbacks in trying to secure new faces for the Bucks, telling the BBC: "Players that I want, who I think will strengthen us, don't want to come here because we're part-time. Or we can't afford them. That's the level that we're at.

"We've got to get some pace in the side that can turn the opposition around and be more creative. That's where we will be looking over the next few days."
