Martin Foyle |
Martin Foyle gave his view of this afternoon's game at Braintree to BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"A valuable three points but well fought," said the Hereford United manager.
"I thought we were up for it and competed.
"A very hard place to come and play a game of football both with the conditions and the style of play we had to adapt against."
Whilst the pitch appeared to be in better condition than reports hadn earlier suggested, Foyle took a look at it around 9am this morning.
"Credit to the groundsmen, they've done well to get the game going ahead.
"It was a very hard scrappy game but, at times, some good quality."
Both wingers, Marley Watkins and Sam Clucas, had good games.
"Over the last two or three home games their heads have dropped a little bit trying to produce a bit of quality.
"But today they came off their shape, picked balls up, they looked dangerous."
Hereford's first goal scored by Chris Sharp came midway in the first half.
"I'm pleased for him. To run away on a bobbley pitch, beat one, beat two and then tuck it in. It was a good finish.
"It will do his confidence the world of good being a striker."
Marlon Jackson and Marley Watkins |
Marlon Jackson and Marley Watkins combined for the second goal.
"I've got three good strikers. They're not going to do well all the time so to take one off and throw one on is good.
"Marlon has got that bit of trickery and it was a good follow-up from Marley."
