Following discussions with various bodies including Supporters Direct, the organisation which represents supporters’ trusts in the UK, the group looking to form a Supporters Trust at Hereford United are seeking levels of interest in the idea ahead of a meeting planned for the end of this month.
Supporters Direct has advised that a 'Steering Committee' be formed to take the idea from embryo to the first open meeting, and the group concerned is now looking for people who may be interested in participation at any level.
The reason for the formation of a supporters’ trust is that supporters need to be better represented in the decisions made by directors and the owners of the club, and believe that some form of formal involvement, as is the case in many clubs in the UK – including Newport County, Mansfield Town and others – would significantly benefit the club. It would also serve to reinforce the links between the club and the wider community it serves, and which has sustained it for nearly 90 years.
Whether you would be interested in becoming a member of a future Trust, or would be willing to get involved in the creation and running of the organisation, the Steering Committee would like fans from around the County of Herefordshire, across the wider country, and indeed across the world, to register their interest to confirm that a Trust has the support of the fans of the club.

The Steering Committee is a group of people interested in setting up a Supporters Trust. Following formation and the first AGM, members will elect a board to represent the organisation.
