Local press reports say Aldershot's Administrator is running out of cash to keep the club running - and a CVA deal on offer will breach Conference rules.
A deal needs to be struck within the next week, with a Shareholders meeting and creditors' CVA meeting scheduled for Thursday. With the Supporters Trust currently unable to submit their own bid, the only offer on the table is reported to come from a consortium of current club directors.
Club chairman Shahid Azeem, who is owed £200,000 from a loan to the club during his six month tenure, John Leppard, and Tony Knight are in advanced talks with the Administrator, creditors, and the PFA over terms of repayment with the club expected to clear 100% of their debt under Conference rules.
However, the Administrator is reported to be set to offer just 2p in the pound to unsecured creditors with just £123,662 available to settle their £1.4million debt.
The Shots have slipped further in the bookies' lists for the Conference, now sitting as 250/1 outsiders alongside Nuneaton and Tamworth. They are 2/1 to finish bottom of the table, and are 2/5 favourites for a bottom four finish.
