Aldershot's takeover has been completed, with a quartet of former club directors taking charge.
Shahid Azeem, who took over as Chairman earlier in the year, resumes the role with a club statement reading: “We are incredibly grateful to the Aldershot Town Supporters Trust for their backing and to fans, creditors, staff, volunteers and players for their patience during these uncertain times.
“We are aware of young supporters who gave their pocket money, pensioners who sold their premium-bonds and people who cancelled holidays so that they could contribute to saving the club. We will be working hard to repay this loyalty by creating a sustainable football club for future generations of Shots supporters.”
The Shots have also announced a two year deal with Chelsea to play reserve team matches at the Recreation Ground, with funds from the deal going to service their CVA, while the Premier League side have also agreed a deal with Adidas to provide the Shots with free kit.
