News Round-Up

Gateshead owner Graham Wood has labelled the Conference 'financially unsustainable'. Wood has been in charge for six years, turning the former Football League side professional again in 2010, but says that he is continuing to bankroll the side with attendances rarely getting over 1,000. The Heed squad are spending two days on the road ahead of their game at Dartford on Saturday, having left for the game on Thursday afternoon. Hyde are the latest side to warn fans about their behaviour with smoke bombs after home fans let off a device during their game with Chester.

Tamworth have extended the loan deals of Nottm Forest's David Morgan and Stoke's Jordan Keane until January. Midfielder Morgan, 19, and defender Keane, 20, arrived at The Lamb three weeks ago. Rotherham are the latest club to choose to ban a local paper after the Rotherham Advertiser ran a story about a fan that had paid for his child to be a club mascot but had failed to receive the promised replica kit.

Cambridge have loaned defender Rory McAuley to Chelmsford until January. The 24 year old picked up an ankle injury back in August and needs games to complete his rehabilitation. Farnborough say they have suspended striker Reece Connolly after he failed an internal drugs test. A club statement claims Connolly tested positive for cocaine and marijuana, with the player taking to Twitter to accuse chairman Spencer Day of attempted blackmail over the tests.

Aldershot have signed striker Charlie Strutton on loan from Wimbledon. The 24 year old has just finished a loan spell with Braintree, netting six times in seven games. Hyde have loaned striker Tom Collins to Bishop's Stortford until January. The former Stockport man has netted four times for Hyde this season.

Halifax have released striker Dale Johnson after he failed to recover from injury. He picked up the problem last December and struggled for games in a recent loan spell at Barrow. Dartford have signed Crawley defender Connor Essam on loan for an initial month. The 21 year old had a loan spell with Luton last season, making nine Conference appearances. The Darts have also signed keeper Phil Smith from Portsmouth on loan.
