News Round-Up

Lincoln have signed striker Delano Sam-Yorke on a three month loan and winger Mitch Austin on a month loan, both from Cambridge. The pair have managed only four Conference starts between them this season after signing in the summer from lower graded clubs. Aldershot have allowed loan keeper Jon Henly to return to parent club Reading. The 19 year old played seven Conference games for the Shots while first choice Glen Morris was injured.

Cambridge have returned loanee Karl Ledsham to Southport, and pulled out of a planned permanent deal for the player. The 26 year old didn't play any games for the U's after a loan deadline day move. The U's have also let defender Aaron Pierre return to Brentford, but they are in talks with Fleetwood about keeper Chris Maxwell's loan and have been told by Kwesi Appiah's agent that they are looking for a higher graded club rather than return to the Abbey Stadium.

Former Bull Chris Hargreaves is reported to have spoken to Northampton about their managerial vacancy, but he is no longer the bookies' favourite. Iain Dowie is now the favourite with Hargreaves out to 3/1, but Torquay are expected to make an approach for the Bournemouth coach with Hargreaves still having his family home in Devon. Former Gulls boss Martin Ling says he will also apply for the job, saying that the club needs to recall the five players it currently has sent out on loan.

Southport have extended the loan of striker Richard Brodie to the end of the season. The 26 year old has scored once in five games for the Sandgrounders so far. Meanwhile, parent club Gateshead have transfer listed four other players. Defenders Dan Smith, Luke O'Brien, and Joe Tait are joined by striker Adam Boyes in being told they can leave the International Arena.

Alfreton have confirmed they have applied to be eligible for promotion to the Football League. Chairman Wayne Bradley says the 'massive gamble' of reverting to part-time status, operating a threadbare squad and 'riding our luck with injuries' has paid off after they left a sizable chunk of their budget for loan signings.

Luton have signed midfielder Kane Ferdinand on loan for the rest of the season. The 22 year old cost Peterborough £200,000 from Southend but he has made only two sub appearances in League One this term. Nuneaton keeper Kelle Roos is reported to be set for a January move, with Sky Sports reporting that a string of clubs across the top four divisions have watched the Dutchman since he debuted six weeks ago.

Alfreton have signed Mansfield midfielder Godfrey Poku on loan to the end of the season. The 23 year old spent last season at Southport on loan. However the Reds have lost loan keeper Ross Atkins, who has been recalled to Derby, but have extended the loan of Luton defender Lathaniel Rowe-Turner to the end of the month. The 23 year old has been with the Reds since September.

Salisbury and Hyde have been rebuffed in moves for Barrow midfielder Alex-Ray Harvey. The 23 year old is a non-contract player at Holker Street, but says he would only consider a move to a full-time club.
