The Community Trust have put some facts about the club's Football and Education programme, that provided yesterday's u19 side that narrowly lost to Chelsea, on their Facebook page:
Some Quick Facts about the Hereford United Community Trust Football and Education Programme:
- 2 Year Unpaid Scholarship Programme for 16-18 Year Old Footballers.
- Train 3 mornings a week and undertake 12 hours of Education Lesson Per Week. Education lessons take place at The Edgar Street Football Ground.
- Education Qualification is a Btec Level 3 in Sport and Excellence (equivalent to 3 A Level qualifications with many exit routes to university.)
- Compete in the PLFL U19 League Western Division against other clubs such as Birmingham City, Bournemouth, Swindon Town and many more.
- Compete in the PLFL U19 National League Cup alongside clubs such as Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, Watford FC and many other teams.
- Many of our players represent established senior teams within Herefordshire. Several of our players are involved in senior teams with Westfields,Wellington as well as many more.
- The Hereford United Football and Education Programme currently has 23 registered students. We have 13 First year and 10 second year students.
- 18 of our 23 students have taken a Football Coaching Level 1 or 2 Qualification through Hereford United Community Trust and have taken part in Coaching Programme with Hereford United in the Community Trust.
- 7 of our 10 second years have applied and had offers of University places when they leave the Football and Education Course in May.
- 4 of 10 second year students have also applied for full time coaching apprenticeships with Hereford United Community Trust.
