Hereford United Supporters Keep Football Spirit Alive‏

LEDBURY TOWN vs HEREFORD UNITED SUPPORTERS TEAM
Ledbury Town FC
Monday 21st July, 7:30pm KO

Members of the Hereford United Supporters Trust Football Team are keeping the spirit of football in Hereford alive despite the confusion and growing anger surrounding the Bulls' first team which is currently being boycotted by Hereford fans.

Supporters of Hereford United have never had it easy, but they're currently going through the darkest period in the clubs 90 year history.

Despite securing their Conference Premier status on the pitch with a final day win over Aldershot Town, Bulls fans have since seen life go from bad to worse.

Former Chairman David Keyte sold a 57% shareholding to London based businessman Tommy Agombar, but promises of payments have failed to materialise and now the clubs famous giantkilling history hangs in the balance having been thrown out of the Football Conference and with mounting unpaid debts that include staff and player wages.

Recently 95% of Supporters Trust members voted in favour of a boycott of their Edgar Street club following the arrival, and numerous broken promises of payment by owner Tommy Agombar.

The Supporters Team, backed by the Supporters Trust, is set to keep football alive for Bulls fans in a series of games over the coming weeks in what is being described as an 'alternative fixture list'.

The fans first game is against local side Ledbury Town, who themselves refused to play Hereford United in what would have been a money-spinning friendly due to the present circumstances at Edgar Street. A booster crowd of over 500 is now expected to turn out at Ledbury to watch a Bulls side made up of fans and former players.

Supporters Team Secretary Chris Oleksy has managed to secure a number of high profile names in the squad, including ex-Hereford management duo Peter Beadle and Steve Jenkins who master-minded United's final day survival at the end of the season.

They are to be joined by a host of ex-players and staff who have thrown their weight behind the fans of Hereford United who are fighting to see greater supporter involvement in the running of the club, and for all existing debts to be cleared by present owner Tommy Agombar.

The game kicks off at Ledbury Town on Monday 21st July, 7:30pm. Admission prices are adult £3, OAPs £2 and £1 for U16s.
