Grant's confidence high for Conference success

Despite losing two of their opening for games, Hereford United attacker John Grant is confident that Hereford United can finish in the Nationwide Conference play-off zone.

Grant, who made his debut against Morecambe as a half-time substitute on Monday, told the Hereford Times: "I am positive that we can finish in the top five. We have lost our last two games but the fans should not get too despondent. Morecambe, for instance, were only in our box three times and scored two goals."

The former Crewe Alexandra striker has set himself a target of twenty goals this season, and hopes to open his account on Saturday as the Bulls travel to Nuneaton Borough, kick off 3pm.

Defender Andy Tretton will miss the game with a groin strain and Ben Smith is still recovering from a dislocated shoulder, and boss Graham Turner is expecting a tough time at Manor Park, particularly because of the good form of Boro's attacker Mark Quayle.

Meanwhile, Hereford United's shareholders' annual meeting has been set for Monday, 23rd September at 5pm in Legends Bar.
