Stuart Fleetwood, the star of Hereford United's 3-1 Carling Cup win over Coventry last night, has been the subject of much press comment overnight.
"Everybody was aware of him [Fleetwood]," said Micky Adams, the Coventry manager.
"We had Hereford watched and knew all about his quality and speed. We were aware of what he could do.
"He did not play well against Barnet on Saturday but I do not want to take anything away from him tonight, we did not deal with him."
Micky Adams wasn't pleased with his sides performance
"I am not going to defend the indefensible. We were not good enough and we got what we deserved - nothing. I would just like to apologise to our supporters," he said.
"All credit to Hereford, they have caused us problems. Our pace in the first half was quite good, but we were never really at the races."
Graham Turner was questioned about his striker.
"I think he has still got a bit left to do for us yet! Stuart has got a great attitude and he has got his just desserts here tonight," said the Hereford United manager.
"He enjoyed the back end of last season after he came here and when he has had his chances, he has done well."
Turner commented on his side's win.
"I am happy for the lads and for the supporters who were magnificent tonight," said Turner.
"To be fair, Coventry had a lot of the ball in the first half and we coped well with that threat. The acid test is whether we can carry on from this."
Rob Purdie added that Turner had wanted a reaction after Barnet.
"I don't think we could have played any better than we did. I thought we bettered them all over the park.
"We have got to make sure we take that into our League games now."
