Chester are to cancel the contracts and pay off two un-named players in the next few weeks to ease the wage bill. The club, who have been on the verge of breaking the wage cap all season, are still chasing an experienced goalkeeper and striker.
Wycombe supporters have backed the board in allowing the name of the ground to be changed for sponsorship after a questionaire was circulated to 3,000 supporters. After just 940 responses were received, two thirds of them backed a sponsorship deal after many fans complained when the ground became the Causeway Stadium after a deal with a local IT firm. Any deal could be worth £250,000 over five years.
Crawley owner Chas Majeed has ended dialogue with their Supporters Trust after the Trust backed a failed bid for the club by Britannia Sports Management. Majeed told reporters: "The message from me and my brother is this - we are in control and we will remain in control. If anyone doesn't like it, they can get out. We will no longer be communicating with the supporters' trust after this mess with Pearson. It appears his cheque was written from an account that doesn't exist anymore. I was then promised a direct money transfer. This money has not yet arrived."
