The Harriers history can be traced back to 1877 when they were formed, unsurprisingly, as an athletics club. In 1880 they joined forces with a local rugby club and later turned their attention to the round ball game. In the early days, they shared the football fans of Kidderminster with rival club "Olympic" who were the first ever winners of the powerful Birmingham League in1889. Harriers were runners-up that year and the clubs amalgamated in 1890. Their 99/00 Conference Championship saw them elevated to The Football League. July 2003 saw the completion of the new £1.1 million 2040 all-seated East Stand but just two years later, they found themselves back in The Conference. Last season they finished in thirteenth place just above the mighty York City.
Their current squad includes former Bull Andy "Mad Dog" Ferrell and Russell Penn who has recently been the subject of a bid by League 1 club Walsall.
Directions.
Leave Hereford travelling north on the A49 towards Leominster. At Woofferton (Salway Arms), turn right onto the A456 (sign Tenbury). Continue through Tenbury Wells following signs for Kidderminster. Stay on the A456 taking care to bear left at the pub in Newnham. Pass through Clows Top and follow the road around Bewdley and passed the Safari Park. Enter Kidderminster via Bewdley Hill and join the inner Ring Road (clockwise). Follow the ring road until you pass the turning for Comberton Road then look for signs for Aggborough (Hoo Road), which will be to your left.
Parking.
There are two fair sized car parks at the ground, but it can sometimes be difficult to get away quickly after the game. It is worth noting that the car park behind the away terrace costs £3, whilst the car park behind the opposite home end is free. Otherwise you can park at the Severn Valley Railway station for £1.50 and walk through to the ground (From Football ground guide).
Train.
Kidderminster station is a ten-minute walk from the ground.
Refreshments
The Club at the stadium admits visiting supporters. There is usually a small charge. Real Ale fans may choose to visit The King and Castle, which is located inside The Severn Valley Railway Station. Rumour has it that they currently have the superb "Bathams" on tap! The food inside the stadium is usually top quality.
Enjoy.
