News Round Up

Cheltenham have extended the contract of veteran Julian Alsop until the end of the year. Port Vale have loaned striker Steve Thompson to Stafford, where fellow Vale player Ross Davidson is already on loan. Torquay boss Paul Buckle has signed an improved two year deal with the club after interest from Colchester.

Burton are to release defender Marc Edworthy when his month long contract expires as they cannot agree financial terms on a longer deal. Bournemouth have released keeper Ryan Pryce by mutual consent due to a lack of first team opportunities. The move leaves them without a senior back-up keeper. Rumoured Lincoln managerial target John Ward has swapped the assistant boss role at Stockport for the one at Colchester.

Accrington failed to make a single payment towards clearing their tax debt despite receiving two £25,000 loans from supporters to cover the initial payments, with current chairman Dave O'Neill investigating where the money has gone. The fans group led by Ilyas Khan has confirmed it has offered to clear the debt in exchange for a stake in the club, but the funds have been on the table for several months without an answer.

Farsley had to postpone tomorrow's match after a potential buyer for the club pulled out of the deal leaving the Administrator with no funds to carry the club on. They had closed the club's ground, but a later statement confirmed a new bidder had put funds into the club and the game will go ahead.
