Big Mathieu - a Good Prospect

Hereford United latest signing Mathieu Manset, or the 'Beast' as he has been named, came on as a sub in the Trophy game last night and scored Hereford's second goal. He also converted a penalty in the shoot-out.

"Big Mathieu came on at the end and got a goal," manager John Trewick told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"The script was written for him so hopefully we can add him into the proceedings now.

"He's a big target man and he's got a good touch and he's an intelligent player so we think we've got a good prospect on our hands.

"I'm quite excited about the future for him and perhaps what we can do with him."

As for the game itself:

"I'll win a game anyway it comes but we certainly do things the hard way, don't we?

"I thought we put on a good display, created a lot of chances and really should have had the game won in the first half.

"But, true to form, we have conceded an equaliser but fortunately we kept our heads for the penalty shoot-out."
