Connor remains on Sidelines

Hereford United reserve goal-keeper Dan Connor remains on the sidelines and isn't expected to be fit enough to resume full training for sometime.

Care-taker manager Jamie Pitman has suggested that Connor's hip injury is complicated.

During pre-season Connor looked as though he would push Adam Bartlett for a place in the starting eleven.

But late in August he injured his hip getting out of a car.

"He did everything all week and got out of the car on Saturday night and something popped in his hip and he has been in hospital all week," said Simon Davey who was manager at the time.

"He had an operation about three or four years ago in that area but since then he has played 70-odd games.

"He has had no problems whatsoever and has come through everything and not looked as though he has been carrying it at all in training.

"Speaking to consultants they say it can happen to anybody at any stage and sometimes it is just the way you get out of a car.

"Unfortunately that's what he did - he got out of the car in a strange way and something has popped."

Recently Pitman brought in Rhett Heister as cover.

Meanwhile Pitman expects Janos Kovacs, whom he thought had ruptered his shoulder joint in last night's game, to be out for as long as six weeks. He was due to have an x-ray today.
