The Bulls will face Bolton Wanderers in a pre-season friendly on August 1st, the club have announced.
It is the first home friendly to be announced and will be part of Jamie Pitman's benefit season. The Trotters last visited Edgar Street during the 1987/8 Division 4 season, winning 3-0 as they won promotion back out of the basement at the first attempt.
Owen Coyle's men are expected to bring a strong side to Edgar Street with the Football League season starting just five days later.
The friendly is set to start at 7.30pm.
Bolton are also playing another friendly in the area - they will take on Newport County the previous Saturday.
