Linington to Referee on Saturday at Edgar Street

James Linington has been appointed to referee this coming Saturday's League Two match between Hereford United and Northampton Town. It will be his first match in charge at Edgar Street.

As far as is known the Bulls have met Linington three times in his career and each of those games has been drawn 1-1. And he's sent off Michael Townsend twice.

The Bulls have already met the Shropshire based official twice this season, firstly at Wimbledon and secondly at Plymouth.

Delroy Facey scored for the Bulls at Wimbleton whilst Nicky Featherstone received a yellow card, however the game at Plymouth produced two red cards.

Firstly Michael Townsend was dismissed for collecting two yellow cards then shortly afterwards Plymouth's Darren Purse was sent off after a crude challenge on Nathan Elder. Tom Barkhuizen scored for the Bulls.

Last season Linington took charge of Hereford's last game of the campaign at Macclesfield in which Townsend was sent off for gaining two yellow cards.

To date this season Linington has refereed 35 games in which he has given out 115 yellow cards and 7 red cards.
