News Round-Up

New Barnet manager Martin Allen has called on fans to back him and the team after a lukewarm reception to his re-appointment. In a brief statement posted on their official website, Allen says he cancelled the players' day off and will have all of them including those injured in for training and travelling to Friday's match at Southend. Accrington have opted not to extend the loan of striker Bobby Grant despite him scoring three times in eight games.

Port Vale preferred bidder Keith Ryder, a Man Utd fan, says he will talk to the other bidders if they still want to be involved in the club. Ryder met with fans last night to outline his plans, telling them he planned a 'good increase' in the playing budget next season. Former Bulls striker Adrian Foster will remain as manager of Gillingham Town, of the Western League, after missing out on promotion. The 42 year old says he considered quitting after failing to meet his target.

Darlington's Administrator has sent out the club's CVA proposal to creditors ahead of a May 4th vote. The proposal offers to pay off all football creditors in full up front, will unsecured creditors being paid in full over a three year period. The deal hinges on Raj Singh waiving his £800,000 debt. Gillingham's local council say they will not lift the prohibition notice on Saturday's game with Swindon as there is no need. They say the notice is only enforcable if the Police do not attend the match, so that providing the necessary policing is in place the notice is void.
