Paul Parry has revealed that a difficult divorce stopped him playing for Wales over the last eighteen months. But now he says this problem is in the past and he wants to play for his country again.
"I’ve been going through a divorce. I left my wife three years ago and it has been a long, drawn-out saga," explained Parry.
"I am just glad to come through to the end of it now.
"It is something I just want to put to the back of my mind and look to the future.
"My mind feels refreshed now but it has taken a lot out of me. I was suffering a lot of stress and I just needed some time out for myself.
"That was the only reason I took that step back from Wales, I had to clear my mind.
"I’ve got two children from my previous marriage. Now I have a good relationship with my ex, everything is amicable and I can see my kids when I want to see them. So there is no problem with that."
Parry's children were mascots when he returned to Edgar Street earlier this year for the FA Cup game between his former club Hereford United and Cardiff City.
Later in the Western Mail article he explained that he had kept John Toshack, the Wales manager, fully informed as to his circumstances.
"I do hope now people know the reason why I took the step back out of the Wales set-up they might see my point of view," said Parry, who has won 11 caps, the last against San Marino in March 2007.
"It has only been for my personal reasons I withdrew. I’ve had a few conversations with John. He knew the situation from day one.
"When I told him he was understanding, he just wanted to know when I might come back into consideration."

Parry wants to play for Wales again
News Round Up
Crewe have completed the £2.25million sale of striker Nicky Maynard to Bristol City, where he has signed a four year deal. Yeovil have released defender Scott Guyett from his contract to enable him to sign for Bournemouth. The Cherries can sign free agents, but not players contracted to another club while they complete their exit from Administration.
Leeds have signed Argentine striker Luciano Becchio on a three year deal. The former Boca Juniors and Barcelona man scored 27 times in 50 games for Spanish third tier side Merida. Swindon have signed veteran midfielder Lilian Nalis following his release from Leicester. The Premier League veteran has signed a one year deal.
Worcester City are holding a public meeting tonight as a rift develops between the board of directors and a group of disgruntled shareholders who want changes at the club. Jordan Fitzpatrick played the final ten minutes of their friendly with Stoke last night. Shrewsbury have splashed the cash again, signing Rotherham captain Graham Coughlan for an undisclosed sum.
Ashley-Paul Goes To Carlisle
One trialist who apparently won't be back in a Bulls shirt is Ashley-Paul Robinson.
The 18 year old has linked up with Carlisle for a week in an attempt to earn a contract. He featured for an hour for the Bulls against Bristol City, but them had only a brief cameo against Southampton on Tuesday night and was quickly away from the ground after the game.
"He's with us for a week, so we'll have a look at what he can do and we can take it from there," said Carlisle manager John Ward.
"He's a young man who has played for the first team at Crystal Palace, so we've got him up here to see how he gets on with what we are doing. We're looking forward to working with him for next seven days and then, as I say, we can look at what we want to do after that."
Season Preview: Part Two
Hartlepool - 07/08 15th - Bookies 50/1 17th= - The monkey hangers are unlikely to give Jeff Stelling anything to get over-excited about this season, although he only needs a flurry of goals in the Conference to act like a kid in a toystore. A pair of largely untested midfielders with only eight League starts between them are their only signings so far leaving the locals to expect a struggle with Danny Wilson not expected to survive the season.
Hereford - 07/08 3rd(p) - Bookies 66/1 21st= - We were expected to struggle last season. We were expected to go out of business five years ago. We weren't expected to return from the Conference at all. We were expected to lose to Newcastle. How wrong can these people be? Premier League here we come... once we get that pacy striker we all want.
Huddersfield - 07/08 10th - Bookies 18/1 5th= - Having taken advantage of their centenary celebrations to boost their crowd with cheap tickets, their signing of £250,000 winger Gary Roberts should help the likes of Phil Jevons and Andy Booth fire the Terriers into the play-offs and some interesting Yorkshire derbies with...
Leeds - 07/08 5th - Bookies 10/3 1st - If Gary McAllister fails to get promotion the Leeds faithful will be furious. The rest of League One will probably have a quiet chuckle at the club that still thinks it doesn't belong in this division no matter what their results are. Has anyone seen Ken Bates since Radovan Karadzic got arrested? I bet that judge works for the FA and will wangle a points deduction in at some stage.
Leicester - 07/08 22nd(r) - Bookies 5/1 2nd - Nigel Pearson knows failure is not an option. With a Chairman with a well used axe he'll have to accumulate more wins than the eleven in his managerial career (53 games) by Xmas to avoid being another victim of the new Doug Ellis. The defence has been overhauled, the midfield has a new pair of wingers, just needs a shiny new striker to finish off and Pearson will have few excuses for failure.
Leyton Orient - 07/08 14th - Bookies 50/1 17th= - Barry Hearn's pet project has seen gradual progress over the last decade. From a botton six League Two finish in 99/00 to lower mid-table League One last season - it's been steady if totally unspectacular progress. Off the pitch Brisbane Road, or the Matchroom Stadium if you prefer, has been almost totally overhauled but that's as far as the investment goes. On the pitch it's bargain basement hunting for five year boss Martin Ling who has to comply with a strict budget and produced a £1million transfer profit at the helm.
Season Preview: Part One
Brighton - 07/08 7th - Bookies 22/1 9th - The surprise return of Micky Adams have given hope of another promotion run to Seagulls fans, but heavy losses off the pitch need to be stemmed by the Falmer development and any delays could see players sold to balance the books and no huge signings suggest they'll have to make do for this season at least.
Bristol Rovers - 07/08 16th - Bookies 40/1 14th= - With the ground redevelopment halted by the credit crunch we'll have to endure the ploughed field that is the Memorial Ground once more. Another six figure striker signing in Daryl Duffy sees them able to field £400,000 in strikers but no-one expects it to be enough for them to make an impression.
Carlisle - 07/08 4th - Bookies 18/1 5th= - The player enforced sales of Joe Garner and Kieran Westwood netted them nearly £1million after clauses, but only free transfers have so far come through the door in replacement. A surprise play-off package last season will probably be happy with the same again.
Cheltenham - 07/08 19th - Bookies 150/1 24th - If the bookies had their way they'd already be down, and a succession of public failures to capture a target man with players citing a lack of ambition at the club suggest they're almost only in League One to make the numbers up. Have made little progress since being a surprise play-off winner, and will be hard pressed to avoid a return to League Two.
Colchester - 07/08 24th(r) - Bookies 20/1 7th= - £400,000 spent on Steven Gillespie suggests they want promotion at the first attempt in the brand new stadium, but they will probably have to settle for a play-off spot if Leedcester run away with it as most people expect. David Perkins replaces Karl Duguid in midfield, whose departure for Plymouth ends 12 years as a pro for his only club.
Crewe - 07/08 20th - Bookies 100/1 23rd - They always seem to be relegation bankers when the bookies make their lists, and this season is no exception. A new strike force in beanpole Calvin Zola and Anthony 'my face hurts' Elding along with largely untried winger Joel Grant cost nearly £500,000, though that money is more than likely to be recouped by the £2million sale of Nicky Maynard as another trundles off the Gradi production line.
Collins loaned out
As expected, Lee Collins has left Wolves for a loan deal...with League Two Port Vale. Collins had been linked with a return to Edgar Street but opted to move to Vale Park on a six month loan.
Collins joins ex Bull John McCombe at Port Vale, and he is said to be pleased to be renewing this partnership.
"I am looking forward to it. The experience I gained while on loan at Hereford last season can do nothing but help me." said Collins, speaking to the Official Port Vale Website.
"I played in a side that won promotion and that did wonders for my confidence and I am hoping to do the same here. John McCombe and I got on well both on and off the pitch so again that will help me settle in. Defensive wise I can work well in a back four, especially with John McCombe being here as well."

Peterborough Chairman threatens Bulls News
Yesterday afternoon Bulls News received an e-mail from top London solicitors Carter-Ruck.
The e-mail was sent after clients of Carter-Ruck, Darragh MacAnthony and MacAnthony Realty International (MRI), said that an article on Bulls News was highly defamatory.
The brief article, part of the 'News Round-Up' of 29th July, referred to the ITV1 programme Tonight, broadcast on Monday, which featured MRI and some of its customers. Bulls News was given little more than 24 hours to remove the piece or face further legal action. The article has been removed.
The ITV Tonight programme featured what the ITV website describes as 'an undercover investigation giving a behind the scenes insight into the international property company MacAnthony Realty International. Jonathon Maitland talks to customers who feel their investments didn’t live up to what they were promised.'
A quick Google search finds a number of other small websites, like askaboutmoney.com, which have received correspondence from lawyers acting for MRI or Darragh MacAnthony and have removed articles relating to them, but larger media organisations like the Sunday Times still carry their articles about MRI nearly two years after they were first published.
Darragh MacAnthony is the chairman of Peterborough Football Club, which he purchased for £1 nearly 12 months ago. At the time he was claimed to have an estimated wealth of €225million, with his company claiming 25,000 satisfied customers in their most recent reports - up from 16,000 in 2006, and up from 20,000 in January.

Both HUMADS and the FUNBUS are reported to be nearing capacity
Meanwhile Tamika Mkandawire returned to action this evening after a long lay-off. The ex-Hereford United captain played the first half in Orient's friendly against Spurs.
More about last night's trialists
Below are a few details on last night's three new trialists at Hereford United.
Samuel Oli:
22 year old Samuel Oji (born 9 October 1985) is an English football player who plays as a defender. He is currently without a club, having been released by Leyton Orient at the end of the 2007–08 season. He is of Nigerian ancestry.
Born in Westminster, London, Oji started his career as a youth player at Arsenal. He signed a full-time contract with Birmingham City for the start of the 2004–05 season.
In 2005–06 he spent six weeks on loan at Doncaster Rovers, for whom he made his debut in the Football League as a second-half substitute against Gillingham. In February 2006 he made his only first-team appearance for Birmingham as a very late substitute in the 2006 FA Cup fourth round replay against Reading. A year later he joined Bristol Rovers on a month's loan, later extended to two months. In the summer of 2007 he had a trial with Southend United, then in August signed for Leyton Orient on a month's loan, later extended to three months.
With only six months remaining on his contract, Oji was released by Birmingham on 8 January 2008 and joined Leyton Orient until the end of the 2007–08 season. He was released by Orient at the end of the season.
Jerry Ani:
A 23 year old Nigerian forward who played for Valletta after being transferred from Naxxar Lions where he was top scorer in the 2004/5 season with 18 goals.
Previously he had been with Adamawa United, a Nigerian side.
Unfortunately Ani had a series on injuries at Valletta and he moved to Kalba-based Al-Ittihad in the United Arab Emirates to try and regain his goal scoring ability.
"I enjoyed playing in the UAE with Kalba Club," Ani told uefa.com. "I learned a lot from our coach, Sergio Teves, the coach of the Benin Under-20 national team. Then at the beginning of this season, I nearly joined a Russian club but the deal fell through at the last moment."
He then signed for Kercem Ajax [FC] who play in the top league on the island of Gozo where he regained his eye for a goal and was noticed by the Nigerian Football Authorities.
Last year he was chosen to play for the Nigerian Under 23 squad against Ghana.
"It was such a big experience to don my national team jersey," he said. "Our coach Samson Siasia - a former national team player himself and a great coach - was inspirational during my brief return home."
Ali is said to have high hopes of playing in European Football again.
"Only God knows why I work so hard in professional football," he said. "My dream is to play for a big club and to have the opportunity to help less fortunate people in this world who are suffering. That is my dream in football. I am a happy man but I will be even happier if my dream comes true."
May be it will come true at Hereford United.
Richard Langley:
28 year old Richard Langley (born Harlesden London 27 December 1979) is a Jamaican footballer who is unattached after playing for Luton Town last season.
He rose through the youth system at Queens Park Rangers, signing a professional contract in 1996. In 2001 he made his international debut for Jamaica, despite being born in London, England. He qualifies for Jamaica through his father.
After a trial with Crystal Palace (who decided they did not need him), he signed for Cardiff City in 2003 for an initial fee of £200,000 rising to around £250,000 on appearances. He returned to QPR in August 2005, but was not given a contract extension. He joined Luton on a free transfer a year later, and wore the number 17 shirt for the 2006-2007 season.
In mid-January of 2008, it was rumoured Langley would join the exodus at Luton Town by joining Championship club Sheffield Wednesday. Colchester United, Bradford City and Lincoln City were also rumoured to be interested in the Jamaican.
He has now been released from Luton and is believed to have had trials at both Darlington and MK Dons before coming to Hereford United.
News Round Up
Cheltenham have had a £100,000 offer for Port Vale striker Marc Richards accepted after it triggered a clause in his contract. Stockport have confirmed the loan signing of Stephen Gleeson until the January window. Leicester have released Dutch midfielder Sergio Hellings after a disappointing 12 months at the Walkers Stadium.
Oldham have confirmed receiving a total of seven bids for four different players. The cash-strapped side, who have lost two major sponsors over the summer, say they will only sell at the right price. Crewe have accepted a £2.2million bid, believed to be from Bristol City, for striker Nicky Maynard.
Paul Parry scored Cardiff's goal as they drew 1-1 at Swindon in a friendly. Bristol Rovers defender Joe Jacobson will be out until October after damaging knee ligaments. Ex-Bull Andy Williams is also struggling with a bruised foot, but is expected to make a swift recovery.
Collins to return?
According to the Express and Star, it is 'likely' that Hereford United are going to loan Lee Collins from Wolves again. Whether this rumour will turn out to be true remains to be seen. With Karl Broadhurst out injured, Graham Turner is likely to be looking for a new centre-half, although Sam Oji impressed last night. However, Collins versatility could prove extremely useful for The Bulls.
Meanwhile, former Hereford loanee Stephen Gleeson is set to join Stockport County on loan. This will be the young Ireland's international's third loan spell at Edgeley Park. The deal has been in the pipeline for a while, although Wolves are eager for Gleeson to sign a new contract before he goes out on loan. The loan is expected to be for half a season.

Dyer back on Thursday
Southampton coach Jan Poortvliet has said the injury to Nathan Dyer isn't serious.
Dyer collided with Hereford keeper Darren Randolph as both went for the ball last night in the friendly at Edgar Street. Dyer appeared to be caught by a 'knee in the ribs which left him feeling nauceous' and was stretchered off.
"There is no problem there, he was a little hurt from the bang but nothing major," said Poortvliet.
"He will be back in training on Thursday."
Young Bulls draw at Hay
Hereford United's under 18's drew their pre-season friendly against Hay St Mary's 3-3 last night. The young Bulls were 3-1 down at one stage but rallied well.
Below is an edited report from Martin Tong, website editor of Hay St Mary's.
The Saints dominated the first 20 minutes and went close on several occasons, the best chance falling to Rob Snedden who pulled his shot wide after being put in by Ben Bevan. It was Bevan who went close next getting on the end of a Kevin Jones flick on, his shot hit the post and went out for a goal kick. The young keeper (Matt Gwynne) made a couple good saves to keep the Saints attack at bay but could do nothing to prevent the lively Bevan from opening the scoring after being put in on goal by Snedden. Hereford came into the game in the last 10 minutes of the first period and looked dangerous on the counter attack with Nick Evans going close at the near post. The session ended with the Saints 1-0 up.
It was Hereford who dominated the first 10 minutes of the second session and got a deserved equaliser when Tyler Weir placed his shot past keeper Ian Jones. The Saints then took control again and it was one of their own youth players (Jake Atkinson) who beat his marker on the right and sent in an inch perfect ball for Bevan to run onto and make it 2-1. Kevin Jones made it 3-1 when his shot on the turn went through the Hereford centre back and the keepers legs after a mix up. Ian Jones in the Saints goal had to make a double save from Weir and Evans to keep the Saints 2 goal lead. End of session two 3-1 to the Saints.
Hereford Youth made several changes for the final session and it was good to see a Saint among them (Brendan Hackett) who nearly scored with his first touch with a bullet of a header which just went over the bar with keeper Jones stranded. Hereford Youth were by far the better side in the this session and their superior fitness showed. Midfielder Jimmy Morton pulled a goal back to make it 3-2 and Aiden Thomas got the equaliser with 2 minutes to go after scoring a controversial goal when getting on the end of a Weir cross.
Final score 3-3.
Saints - Ian Jones,Josh Davies,Mike Havard,Phil Davies,Joe Maygothling,Chris Preece(c),Sam Maygothling,Gavin Williams,Ben Bevan,Kevin Jones,Rob Snedden. Subs - Russell Jones,Jake Atkinson,Zac Snape,Steve Goodwin,Sam Powell.
Hereford Youth - Matt Gwynne,Joe Loftus,Jamie Cuthbertson,Craig Lawrence(trialist),Joel Edwards,Ross Powell,James Cartwright,Tyler Weir,Jimmy Morton,Jack Brazier,Nick Evans. Subs - Brendan Hackett,Chris Evans,Sam Hunt,Aiden Thomas,Chris Freddie,Ashley Stubbs.
Saints report praises Bulls
The match report from the official Southampton website on this evening's friendly at Edgar Street has several words of praise for Hereford United and in particular their defence.
'A resolute Hereford defence.'
'Saints were finding themselves up against a brick wall in the form of the Hereford defence as every attempt they made on goal was blocked.'
For the Bulls the back four of Beckwith, who should be made captain, Oji, Rose and Threlfall with Randolph in goal all had a good game. Diagouraga and trialist Langley looked a potentially useful combination in mid-field but it's up-front where the Bulls may still need to add to the squad.
Although trialist Ashley-Paul Robinson was only given a few minutes on the pitch this evening, it will be surprising if Graham Turner doesn't consider offering him a contract. This youngster has something about him with an excellent first touch.
Meanwhile the sponsors of this evening's match gave the man of the match award to winger Matty Done.
Decent Workout says Turner
Hereford United manager Graham Turner told the assembled press that he thought tonight's friendly had provided the Bulls with 'a decent workout against good quality players'.
"The players worked hard. It's been a well worth-while exercise.
"We feel we've made a little bit more progress in our preparations.
"We've had a look at one or two trialists. It may disrupt things a little bit having to put them in there but it's the only chance we have to look at them.
"I think there were some reasonable individual performances tonight."
Turner was asked by Trevor Owens of BBC Hereford and Worcester about this evening's trialists.
"(Jerry Ani) He's Nigerian. He's been playing in Portugal. It's agents that we know that have asked us to have a look at him.
"Jerry has only just come in as has Sam Oji at the back, Richard Langley also in midfield, experienced mid-field player. You have to give them a chance to settle in training and a game like this."
Turner also revealed that he had not be able to sign two championship players.
"We've just been informed today by a championship club that two players we were optimistic we might have got - one has got injured and will be out for five weeks and the other one possibly getting near the first team. So he won't be allowed out at the present time."
Meanwhile Southampton coach Jan Poortvliet said: "I expect more from my forwards - more movement, more direct, more when we don't have the ball.
"Maybe it's a bit of confidence that some players need."
Bulls play out goalless draw
Hereford United drew 0-0 with Southampton this evening in front of an attendance of 1209 at Edgar Street. Three trialists, Sam Oji, Richard Langley and Jerry Ani were included in the starting line-up, whilst Darren Randolph was preferred in goal to Craig Samson despite the latter's fine performance against Bristol City. The Saints started with the trio of Jason Euell, Bradley Wright-Phillips and Stern John leading their attack.
The first-half saw few chances for either side. Nathan Dyer thought he should have had a penalty when he fell under a challenge by Robbie Threlfall, but the referee said no. A fine cross from Richard Rose was met with little conviction from Ani, whilst Dyer's rising shot failed to trouble Randolph. David McGoldrick dragged a shot past Randolph's far post, before Dyer was stretched off following a collision with the on loan Charlton 'keeper. Jake Thomson replaced him on the right-wing.
Tommy Forecast replaced Bartosz Bialkowski in goal at half-time, whilst Grzegorz Rasiak and Marek Saganowski were introduced in place of Wright-Phillips and John. The second-period started quickly, with Saganowski shooting wide at one end, whilst Rose blasted over from the edge of the box at the other. Threlfall tried his luck after cutting in from the left, but a bobble meant his right-foot shot ended up at the back of the Meadow End. A powerful burst through the middle by the impressive Toumani Diagouraga resulted in the Frenchman shooting past the post, whilst McGoldrick curled a free-kick over the bar from 25 yards. Excellent defensive blocks in quick succession from Dean Beckwith and Threlfall denied Southampton's attackers, before a Saganowski chipped effort was caught by Randolph.
Kris Taylor, Steve Guinan, Bradley Hudson-Odoi and Clint Easton replaced Ben Smith, Langley, Ani and Threlfall mid-way through the second-half but it was Southampton who continued to threaten. Saganowski again smashed a shot past the post from 25 yards. McGoldrick was replaced by Joseph Mills with fifteen minutes remaining, whilst Jack MacLeod and Ashley-Paul Robinson came off the bench to take the place of Matty Done and Simon Johnson. Mills nearly scored the winner late-on, but a quick-fire shot inside the box was held by Randolph.
The signs were encouraging this evening, although United still look a little light up front. The defence was in top form today though, with Beckwith, and his trialist partner Oji looking very solid. Langley looked tidy in midfield, although Diagouraga stole the show with some superb passing, tackling and quick-feet. Up top, Ani put himself about well, and won a large amount of headers, whilst also holding the ball up well to bring others into play in the untried 4-5-1 formation. United's next game is their final friendly when Premiership new boys West Brom travel to Edgar Street. Kick-off is at 7.45pm on this coming Friday.
Hereford: Randolph, Rose, Oji, Beckwith, Threlfall, Johnson, Langley, Diagouraga, Done, Smith, Ani.
Subs: Samson, Taylor, Breen, MacLeod, Jones, Gwynne, Robinson, Easton, Moses, Guinan, Hudson-Odoi.
Southampton: Bialkowski, James, Thomas, Perry, Surman, Dyer, Wotton, Euell, Wright-Phillips, McGoldrick, John.
Subs: Forecast, Hatch, Racine, Thomson, Mills, Saganowski, Rasiak.
New Trialists Profiles
Tonight's game with Southampton ended 0-0, with a trio of new trialists on show:
Sam Oji: Former Birmingham trainee who had loans at Doncaster, Bristol Rovers, and Leyton Orient before signing for Orient permanently in January. Was released at the end of the season.
Jerry Ani: 23 year old Nigerian who chose Malta as his first port of call in Europe. 18 goals in 04/05 season with second tier side Naxxar Lions FC saw move to 'giants' FC Valletta but injury limited his chances. Moved on to the United Arab Emirates, then back to Malta where his goalscoring earned him a call-up to the Nigerian Olympic side.
Richard Langley: Released from Luton in the summer. Previously with QPR, Cardiff, and with a dozen caps for Jamaica. Now 28, the 6ft midfielder is rumoured to be a target of a number of clubs.
In addition to these, 'Dave Carter' was now under his real name of Ashley Paul Robinson, while Craig Moses was also named again.
Guinan, BHO 100/1 For Top Goalscorer
Both Steve Guinan and Bradley Hudson-Odoi are 100/1 shots to be top scorer for the coming League One season according to the bookies.
They are the only two Bulls in the list to be produced by bookies, with Leeds' Jermaine Beckford and Peterboro's Aaron McLean 9/1 favourites. The only ex-Bull on the list is Andy Williams who comes in at 150/1. In League Two John Grant is joint 7th on the list at 20/1 with Chris Zebroski at 33/1, Adam Stansfield at 40/1, and Alan Connell at 50/1.
The Bulls remain available at 66/1 on the main League One betting, although they have moved ahead of both Yeovil and Hartlepool in some lists.
Wolves leave out Lee Collins
Speculation that Lee Collins is to go out on loan from parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers continues with the news that he isn't in their squad which meets Walsall in a friendly this evening.
Collins only played for a few minutes when Wolves played Hereford United two weeks ago and it is thought that Graham Turner would be happy for the youngster to have another spell on loan at Edgar Street.
Meanwhile former Bull Gavin Williams will take to the field for the first time this evening for his new club Bristol City. He is said to have overcome his ankle injury.
City play Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road.
Finally West Bromwich travel to Northampton this evening. Hereford United supporters will be keen to see whether 'Shergar' plays as there is still a possibility he may go out on loan if he can't force his way into their first team squad. Next Friday Albion are sending a reserve team to play Hereford.
Soton squad for Hereford Friendly
Southampton have announced their squad for this evening's friendly at Edgar Street.
Team: Bialkowski, James, Thomas, Perry, Surman, Wotton, Euell, McGoldrick, Dyer, Thomson, John.
Subs: Forecast, Hatch, Mills, Raccine, Gobern, Wright-Phillips, Saganowski, Rasiak.
Stern John is expected to start up-front with David McGoldrick just behind him according to coach Jan Poortvliet.
After half-time Rasiak and Saganowski could take over in attack.
Both goalkeepers will have a half each.
Hereford United are expected to have another couple of trialists on show this evening. One of them will be Ashley-Paul Robinson.
Defender Karl Broadhurst will miss out as he recovers from his dis-located shoulder but Sam Gwynne may feature after his injury.
The game starts at 7.45pm with admission set at £8 for adults and £4 for concessions.
News Round Up
Huddersfield have completed the signing of Ipswich's former Accrington winger Gary Roberts for a package worth £250,000, and are giving a trial to veteran defender David Unsworth. Luton have been handed back their 'Golden Share' in the Football League after agreeing to the League's terms following Administration. Luton will pay all creditors 16p in the £ as part of the deal, although not legally bound to do so.
Swindon's ongoing CVA drama has taken another twist after nearly another £1million in debt was claimed in the latest creditors list, five years after the list was originally assembled. The creditors were all set to agree a 24p in the £ settlement, but the new debt jeopardises this. The current Administrators are also locked in a court battle with the former Administrators over a £60,000 bill.
Chester are trying to increase pre-season attendances by offering prizes to attending fans. Thursday's game with Swansea will see the 500th, 750th, and 1,000th paying customer win match tickets, signed shirt and ball, and a season ticket in order. Danny Carey-Bertram will not be signing for Burton after Nigel Clough signed another striker instead.
Forest Green will hope to set a precedent after applying for permits for two teenage Ghanaian players. Current rules prevent them, students at local Hartpury College, from playing for the club on student visas. Sammy Igoe is interesting ambitious Havant and Waterlooville after leaving Bournemouth. Igoe, who started his career at Portsmouth, lives nearby.
Bournemouth are to host a Twenty/20 cricket match at Dean Court on the August Bank Holiday as they attempt to maximise pitch use. An artificial wicket will be placed over the centre circle that is claimed to leave the football pitch undamaged. Southend have ended their interest in veteran defender Jamie Clapham because he is too short for boss Steve Tilson.
Ex-Bull Michael Husbands has joined Oxford on trial after Cheltenham decided not to offer him a deal. Bristol Rovers will run out to the theme tune from Pirates of the Carribean in the coming season after it was voted for by fans. Crewe's transfer listed midfielder Gary Roberts has gone AWOL from the club. He assured boss Steve Holland on Thursday that he would apply himself to the cause, but them failed to turn up for Saturday's friendly or Monday's training session.
Stockport are the latest side to move their visit of Leeds to a noon kick off on Police advice. Leeds have announced a three year shirt sponsorship deal with an internet holiday company, who stepped in at the 11th hour after another deal fell through with an un-named company.

Bulls News is planning to run its very own Prediction League this coming season. As an incentive to enter, Bulls News will scrape the barrell to offer prizes at Christmas and the end of the season for the leader.
The rules are very simple:
Guess the score and attendance for each Hereford United League One game.
If you guess the result correctly (Home win/Away win/Draw), you will win one point. If you guess the goals scored by one side correctly, then you will win two points. From guessing the score, a maximum of five points can be gained.
If you guess the attendance bang on, then you will win five points. If you guess 100 either way of the attendance, then you will win one point.
There will be a separate Blog, on which the results of each game and current tables will be displayed. This will be set up in the coming days.
Bulls News will be running a tester this coming Friday for the West Brom game. Predictions should be emailed to bullsnewspredictions@hotmail.co.uk by 6.30pm, Friday August 1st.
Addicks May Need Randolph Back
Charlton may want Darren Randolph back from the Bulls after no.1 Nicky Weaver suffered a knee injury at the weekend.
The former Man City stopper broke down in the pre-match warm up at Brighton, with boss Alan Pardew saying: "Nicky hurt his knee in the warm-up. Unfortunately he got it caught in the ground because it was a sticky pitch and we now have to wait and see what the scan says."
Pardew went on to tell the local press he would wait for the results before deciding on whether to get Randolph back - although it is unclear whether the decision will rest with him or Bulls boss Graham Turner.
In a recent interview, Turner outlined his intentions to take a goalkeeper on loan but would not want to rely on a keeper that could be recalled at short notice leaving the Bulls' short themselves.
Weaver's injury leaves Charlton with only two rookie keepers available; 22 year old Rob Elliot, with only one sub appearance to his name, and 17 year old Callum Christie.
Youth face Hay St. Marys
Hereford United Youth continue their pre-season preparations when they travel to Hay playing fields to face Hay. St Marys on Tuesday evening.
The game, organised by former Hay and Hereford player Gareth Davies, will provide a stern test for the Bulls' youngsters. Kick-off is at 7.30; admission is £1 for adults, whilst children can watch for free. Both sides will be hoping for good support, so if you're not coming to Edgar Street to watch the first team, why not pop down to the border town to cheer on the youth in what should prove to be an entertaining match between two teams that play good attacking football.
It may be a chance to discover the next Andy Williams, Sam Gwynne or Craig Jones, with the youngsters hoping to impress enough to join up with the first-team in the near future.
Yeovil recognise "massive" Hereford
This morning sees the start of on-line ticket sales for games at The Huish Stadium this season. Supporters of all things green and slippery are able to book and pay for games in advance with a few notable exceptions.
The excellent Ciderspace site is reporting that on-line purchasing has been suspended for the games against Leeds, Leicester and HEREFORD.
Isn't it nice to be loved?
News Round Up
Carlisle have loaned striker Kevin Gall to Lincoln until January. The former Yeovil man turned down Cheltenham for geographical reasons. Leigh's move to their new stadium has been delayed until November due to 'minor issues'. Theo Robinson scored for Watford as they beat Winchester City 2-0.
Cheltenham have been given a blunt description by Michael Boulding, who told the Bradford press: "No disrespect to Cheltenham, who are a very well run club, but the ambition levels are not there at all." The Robins are one of three clubs chasing Port Vale striker Marc Richards. The former Blackburn trainee scored only five times in 32 games for Vale last season but collected ten yellow cards. The BBC claims Vale will require a six figure fee for his services.
Hartlepool are understood to have suffered a significant financial loss after a 'centenary tournament' at the weekend attracted just 850 fans. Scottish side Hamilton won the tournament over the Monkey Hangers and reserve Sunderland and Huddersfield sides. ITV will broadcast highlights of the FA Cup qualifying rounds on it's website. Setanta will also show a highlights package as the pair take over FA Cup coverage from Sky and the BBC.
Ex-Bull Sammy Igoe's Bournemouth future is on hold as the club have other priority positions to fill first according to manager Kevin Bond, who will only make him an offer if there is sufficient left in the budget. He is one of seven trialists to officially depart the club over the weekend. Scunthorpe have lost the services of first choice goalkeeper Joe Murphy for at least the first month of the season with a groin injury.
Former Bulls trialist Alistair John remains on trial with Gillingham, where he is still currently carrying an ankle injury. Former Bulls loanee winger Joe Anyinsah started Saturday's friendly between current club Preston and Carlisle. Peterboro have signed Paul Coutts from Highland League side Cove Rangers for £25,000, and handed Fisher Athletic winger Shaun Batt a one year deal.

Bulls Home Shirt Launch on Tuesday
The new Hereford United home shirt is expected to be officially unveiled before Tuesday's evening friendly with Southampton.
Stocks of the shirts are due at Edgar Street tomorrow.
Hopefully they will go on sale well before kick-off to allow supporters the chance to purchase from the club shop.
Prices have not yet been released but are expected to be about £39.99 for the adult size. Season ticket holders and members should be able to obtain a 10% discount.
Meanwhile one idea possibly worth persueing is allowing supporters to have their picture taken with the club squad in the new home kit.
Altrincham, for example, are charging £35 for a supporter to be photographed with their squad on the evening their official team photo is taken. At that price, perhaps a little more, there must be a fair number of Hereford United supporters that might purchase such a photo.
The problem, as ever, would be arranging a suitable time when the squad is available and enough supporters can also get to Edgar Street. A possible time might be before the players come on the pitch to warm up for the Yeovil home game.
Cheltenham miss out on another pair.
Rumoured Whaddon Road target Kevin Gall has elected to join League 2 side Lincoln City rather than our Gloucestershire neighbours.
Speaking to their Official site following yesterday's run-around against Southampton, Keith Downing said: "Gall has decided to go to Lincoln. It's frustrating, but his wife is from the north and he wants to stay closer to there."
"Craig Pead was going to play but he pulled out on Friday because he has another year at Brentford and wants to continue to pursue things with them."
The Cheltenham squad for yesterday's workout against a Southampton XI included trialists Nicky Law (Sheff Utd.), former Swiss U21 international Gregory Duruz and ex Margate player Ryan Martin.
The Bulls face Southampton in their penultimate pre-season game on Tuesday evening at Edgar Street when the new "home" shirt is expected to be revealed. Kick off is at 7.45.
Strong Southampton team expected at Hereford
A strong Southampton team is expected to travel to Edgar Street on Tuesday for the friendly against Hereford United.
Yesterday Southampton were held to a 1-1 draw by Cheltenham Town.
After the game head coach Jan Poortvliet commented that the Saints suffered from poor finishing and should have killed off the game before the Robins equalised.
"Honestly I think it was a good performance. I feel sorry it ended up as a draw, but I think next time we can score some more goals," said Poortvliet.
"We have a game at Hereford on Tuesday so we will mix it a little there. Normally we would have two teams but maybe the first team will play one hour."
Southampton's team at Cheltenham: Davis (Bialkowski 46), James, Svensson, Perry, Surman, Wright-Phillips (Dyer 46), Gillett (Thomson 68), Schneiderlin (Wotton 68), Holmes (Euell 68), Lallana, McGoldrick (John 46). Subs not used: Mills.

News Round Up
No-one is taking it seriously as a reserve Torquay side beat a reserve Yeovil side on penalties in the Errea South West Cup. The ex-Bulls at the Gulls lost 1-0 to a Chelsea XI, with Chris Hargreaves playing as a central defender. A Yeovil fansite suggests their ardent fans will spend £2,500 following them around this season, £50 a week - every week.
Former Bulls loanee Matt Halliday is on trial at Northampton, where he played the last 35 minutes of their draw with Luton. Bournemouth have confirmed submitting paperwork to the Football League to allow them to assess their final points deduction. Ex-Bull Alex Jeannin's corner set up the first goal for Mansfield as they lost 3-2 to Derby.
News Round Up
Rotherham have been warned by the Football League that 'time is short' for them to complete formalities on their move to Sheffield and the transfer of the golden share. There are a number of issues to be resolved over their future including their exit from Administration and the lodging of a £750,000 bond.
Walsall have completed the signing of striker Michael Ricketts. The one time England man returns to the club where he started his career. Huddersfield have had a £250,000 package for Ipswich winger Gary Roberts accepted. The former Accrington man was an initial hit at Portman Road before slipping out of the first team picture.
Southend are to fight it out with Walsall for Chelsea youngster Anthony Grant. The 19 year old is available on a free transfer and spent last season at Roots Hall. Leicester have signed Liverpool defender Jack Hobbs on a season long loan. The former Lincoln teenager spent the end of last season on loan at Scunthorpe.
The Errea Challenge Cup, that the Bulls were invited to play in, has turned into farce after Crystal Palace withdrew from the competition after the group stage, leaving Yeovil to play an under-strength Torquay side with the Gulls facing a Chelsea XI at Plainmoor at the same time. Kidderminster are out of the competition after Chertsey earned a point for scoring against Yeovil.
Carlisle have completed the £1.14million sale of striker Joe Garner to Nottm Forest. Oldham want Stoke winger Demar Phillips on a season long loan. The Latics have confirmed they have ended their deal with major sponsors Hillstone Developments, who went into Administration at the start of the month. They will seek an alternative sponsor to replace what was a club record deal.
Bournemouth's Administrator has confirmed he is still holding some £300,000 in season ticket sales money awaiting a definite outcome of the sale of the club. The money equates to around 1,600 ticket sales with the sale hoped to be definite sometime in the next seven days.
Green back in action
Ryan Green played a part in Bristol Rovers friendly against Malmo Anadolu last Thursday. It was his first game since last November when he damaged his achilles.
"My Achilles is fine, which I'm very pleased about, because the pitches out here have been really hard. Now I hope to play twenty minutes or so against LB07 to complete a good week," Green, a former Hereford United defender, told the official Bristiol Rovers website.
"When pre season began, my aim was to play in the game against Llanelli, and then, as time progressed, to play in the third match of this tour so I'm way ahead of schedule and very happy with the way things have gone so far.
"I spent a long time in the gym, on my own for much of the time, but I always thought I'd be back and now it's great to be playing football with the lads again and enjoying all the banter in the dressing room."
Another former Bull, Andy Williams, played the full ninety minutes for Rovers who defeated Malmo Anadolu 4-0.

Parry happy to be a Striker
Paul Parry is quite happy to continue in the striker role he became used to last season when other Cardiff City strikers had injury problems. He proved his point earlier this week with a hat-trick in a pre-season friendly against Carmarthen.
"Playing as a striker suits my game,” said the former Hereford United winger as ported by the Western Mail.
“No matter who the gaffer brings in, I’d love to continue playing there.
“And I will if my performances are up to scratch and I’m scoring goals.
“New strikers add competition and that’s what we need in all areas.
“I scored 11 goals last season and didn’t play a full season.
“If I can add five or six to that this time it would be brilliant. If I play regularly, I believe I could score 20 goals.
“I’m not an out-and-out striker, a fox in the box, but I can do the job.
“I will work and graft in there – chip in with my fair share of goals.
“I’m happy to play anywhere for Cardiff, but it’s a while since I played regularly on the wing and I do enjoy myself in attack.
“On the wing you can be stuck there relying on serving. The ball has to come to you.
“Up front, you can move all over the park and go looking for the ball. Maybe that’s what suits my game.
“The big thing this season, though, is that I want to play wherever the manager wants me to play.
“Our aim is the play-offs at least – and why can’t we go one better than that and get up automatically?
“I want to be a part of that.”
Parry also spoke about playing for Wales after missing several games siting 'personnel reasons'.
“It was a difficult decision, but I would love to think I will play for Wales again,” said Parry.
“I am available and the manager knows that.”
Watford to sue local paper
Watford Football Club have announced that they will take legal action against the Watford Observer after it carried an article saying that the club faced going into administration.
The article in today's edition carried the headline "Hornets facing cash crisis" and alleged the club faced going into administration as it was under pressure to settle a £6m loan as well as being £2m overdrawn.
The Directors of the Club, Graham Simpson, Mark Ashton and Andrew Wilson are taking legal action against the newspaper and the journalist who wrote the article, Kevin Affleck.
The club is demanding a public apology, and damages. Chairman of the Club, Graham Simpson said: "We cannot sit back and let this newspaper damage the reputation of this Club and the individual reputation of those responsible for running the club
This is yet another sorry case of the Watford Observer demonstrating its lack of professional and accepted journalistic standards and not even having the courage or courtesy to check its facts with the Club prior to print. They have given us no option but to take legal action and show our fans that their story is totally untrue again."
The article in the Watford Observer carried the following paragraph:
"Watford face the grim prospect of going into administration unless they can raise 10million through player sales by September. Aidy Boothroyd was told by chief executive Mark Ashton this week he needs to sell Dan Shittu, Tommy Smith,Jobi McAnuff and Jay DeMerit just to balance the books and prevent the Hornets from being docked 10 points."
Last season Watford's wage bill was reported as being around £16.8m. Their top earner was receiving about £11,000 per week.
The article related Watford's position.
Despite landing a windfall of £30m for reaching the Premiership, receiving £10m in parachute payments, generating £20m in player sales and £4.25m for the sale of the corners of the ground, Watford are under increasing pressure from the bank to settle a £6m loan and are £2m overdrawn.

15 - Sam Gwynne

Huge Loss for Southampton
Southampton football club, who visit Edgar Street for a friendly next Tuesday evening, are expected to show a huge loss when their next accounts are released.
The club has released some provisional details of the latest financial situation for the year to 30th June 2008 and director David Jones has expained some of the reason behind the poor results.
"With the loss of the parachute payment from the Premier League and reduced ticket and commercial income, revenue year on year looks to have dropped to around £14m and with the club's cost base this forecasts a gross loss of around £8m and an operating loss before player trading of around £13m."
Chairman Rupert Lowe said that income was down by about 35% but players and coaches wages hasd risen by 15%.
Although the club made £12m from transfers, the loss before tax will be around £5m.
"The financial results will show an increase in the level of borrowings which has necessitated extensive discussions with the company's bank and loan note holder.
"With little spare family silverware left to sell, we will continue to reduce the costs at operating levels."
In some ways the problems at Southampton are similar to those at Hereford United over a decade ago when costs increased whilst the Bulls tried to hold onto their League status.
Trialist Robinson expected to play against Southampton
Graham Turner is to give trialist Ashley-Paul Robinson another chance to prove he is good enough for a possible contract by playing him in next Tuesday's friendly against Southampton.
Although he didn't name him, he told BBC Hereford and Worcester that he wants another look at the wide player and would like to keep him for another few weeks.
"There are still players without clubs at the moment and the player against Bristol City - he's only 18 - he's been down in the London scene," said Turner.
"It's well worth having a look at those players.
"We think back to last season that's how we got Lionel Ainsworth. He came in and had a period with us and showed up enough to be offered a contract."
New Home Shirt Set For Saints Debut
Hereford United are aiming to launch the new home shirt in time for Tuesday's friendly with Southampton.
The shirt remains a Nike design despite rumours to the contrary, and also retains the Sun Valley logo rather than the rebranded Cargill motif. The club hopes to have stocks of the shirt delivered on Monday for a debut in the club shop on Tuesday evening.
News Round Up
Carlisle have signed Hull striker Michael Bridges on a season long loan. The one time England u-21 international spent most of the 05/06 at Brunton Park, scoring 15 in 31 games. Tranmere have signed Liverpool defender Godwin Antwi on loan for the season. He spent last season at Huddersfield, and previously had a spell at Accrington.
Walsall have confirmed they have made an offer to striker Michael Ricketts following his release from Oldham. The one cap England international spent two months at the club last season on loan, and started his career there. Scunthorpe have signed former Man Utd youth defender Michael Lea on a one year deal.
Watford face a massive cash crisis, according to the local paper, and have told manager Ady Boothroyd to sell £10million in players just to avoid Administration. The announcement will mean the likes of Theo Robinson and Lionel Ainsworth are likely to be regular features for their first team in the coming season. The Hornets had a £3.5million wage bill when they entered the Premier League three years ago, but it had rocketed to £16.8million last season.
Former Bulls trialist Cortez Belle is on the verge of leaving Northwich after failing to reappear for pre-season training. Leeds have signed Livingston striker Robert Snodgrass for an undisclosed fee. The 20 year old scored ten times in Division One last season. Brighton have offered new one year deals to Gary Hart and Kerry Mayo after the pair were originally released by former boss Dean Wilkins.
Benjamin unlikely to join Chester
Trevor Benajmin, the ex-Hereford United striker, is unlikely to join up with Chester City. It is understood that a persistent eye problem is the reason.
He had to pull out of Tuesday's friendly against Carlisle when the problem flared up just before the game.
“I spoke to Trevor on Wednesday night and at the moment he’s needing to stay back where he lives," said Chester manager Simon Davies.
“We’ll talk again this weekend to see what position he is in for next week.
“He’s been offered deals in the Conference and a deal off somebody else in this division as well. He wants to come to us, which is great. Whether we can do it, I’m not so sure.
“He was taking medication for it. Whether it ran out or he stopped taking it for some reason I don’t know, but it’s not ideal.
“He’s missing out on training games and fitness training. He won’t be doing anything for another week. At a time when he’s trying to impress, he’s missing out on that.”

Harvey should be managing at a higher level
Jimmy Harvey, the former Hereford United player currently in charge at Forest Green Rovers, should be managing at a higher level. That's the opinion of Andy Managan who has just moved to the Lawn after being released by Bury.
"No disrespect to Forest Green, but Jim should be managing at a higher level," said Mangan as reported by the Gloucester Press.
"He has really impressed me. I knew he rated me and he told me at a game once how much he would like to work with me.
"Jim reminds me of my first manager at Blackpool, Steve McMahon, he inspires confidence in you and is a father-like figure."
Elding finally joins Crewe
Striker Anthony Elding has left Leeds to join Crewe Alexandra for an undisclosed fee.
The 26 year old former Stevenage player had originally held talks with the Railwaymen back in June after the clubs had agreed a fee. Leeds boss Gary McAllister had told Elding that his opportunities at Leeds would be limited. The Official Crewe website is reporting that a three year contract has been completed with Elding quoted as saying "It's a place I've always wanted to come too." His earlier statement that he would stay at Stockport if Crewe and Hartlepool were his only options had obviously slipped his memory!
Meanwhile, Leeds currently have Argentinian striker Luciano Becchio and Canadian U21 hitman Marcus Haber on trial at Elland Road.
Turner fully aware of financial tough times
In his latest interview with Jamie Griffiths, Hereford United manager Graham Turner has spoken about off pitch activities including the financial situation in the wider-world.
"There is a very difficult climate at the moment financially, both for companies and individuals, so we've lost a few but also gained a few.
"We're delighted that Cargill, Sun Valley's parent company, have sponsored our stand.
"Season tickets have held up extremely well - you would expect that having been promoted - but to counter that people, there's a lot of hardship ahead for families in particular.
"So I think it is going to be a tough time financially for a lot of companies, individual families.
"We hope we don't feel it too badly in terms of the size of the attendance.
"We hope that keeping season ticket and match day prices pegged at last years rates will encourage people to keep coming to our games."
(Turner's quotes come from the Official Website interview)
Meanwhile Hereford United isn't the only club affected by estate agents Haart's, who had four advertising boards at Edgar Street, cashflow problems.
Haart had agreed to sponsor Cambridge United's home shirt for two seasons but recently have reportedly failed to keep up their payments on the deal so the Conference side are looking for another sponsor.
Fitzpatrick to trial for Worcester
Jordan Fizpatrick, the young mid-fielder recently released by Hereford United, is to go on trial at Worcester City.
He will make his debut for the club in a friendly at Stourport this evening.
Bulls 10/3 To Be The Best Of The West
The bookies have begun offering a whole raft of new League One bets this week.
You can get 10/3 on the Bulls being the highest placed side over Bristol Rovers, Swindon, Yeovil, and Cheltenham. Odds are also available on which of the newly promoted clubs will fare best but, oddly, the Bulls are not quoted with Peterboro odds-on in that market.
In general odds the Bulls remain 66/1, and 20/1 for promotion. Cheltenham are now a 150/1 shot. In League Two, Shrewsbury are favourites to be the top 'Midland' club of a group that includes Chester and Macclesfield, while the North West group has Accrington as a 9/1 shot.
Some other interesting bets are available in the Conference, where 7/1 is offered for a side to emulate the Bulls and score over 100 goals in a season. Ex-Bull Tim Sills is 12/1 second favourite to be top scorer, with Mark Beesley 50/1, and Forest Green are Evens to finish in the top half.
Turner admits he's missed a striker
Graham Turner's search for a striker will have to continue after he admitted he had missed out on one he had been tracking.
"We've had an offer on the table for five or six weeks now and it's strung along, but the selling club wanted to get their own deals done first," Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"That's finally fallen through which is a big disappointment, but we move on to the next one."
Turner also said he hoped to operate with a squad of around 23 players this coming season, including some season long loan players.
News Round Up
Danny Carey-Bertram is on trial at Burton, where he played 75 minutes of their 3-1 loss to Nottm Forest. Nigel Clough wants another look at the former Bull against Walsall at the weekend, with Burton's official website adding: Clough explained that there was a bizarre FA rule that states a player can only play two trial games, even though they are only friendlies before a formal arrangement has to be entered into.
Scunthorpe have stopped internet ticket sales after Leeds fans started buying tickets for the home end for their game on August 9th. Leicester are set to miss out on striker target Paul Dickov, with the veteran set for a move to Blackpool. Oldham have signed midfielder Kevin Maher following his release from Southend.
Cheltenham appear to have failed in their bid to sign Michael Boulding at the last minute. Boulding had agreed terms with the club, but has apparently changed his mind about the move with brother Rory and the pair are now expected to move to Bradford.

It clicked into place last night - Guinan
Hereford United's senior striker, Steve Guinan, has told Richard Prime of the Hereford Times that he thought the Bulls had played some good football against Bristol City last night.
"We were playing against an exceptional team in Bristol City with some good players out," said Guinan.
"We have showed glimpses through pre-season of what we can do but tonight, a lot of it clicked into place.
"We can take heart from that but the most important thing is that we build on it through the last two pre-season games and be ready for August 9.
"We have pitted ourselves against some fantastic players and I am sure that Southampton and West Brom will be no different. That is what pre-season is about.
"If we can put on a display like we did (last night) against those two then there is no reason why we cannot go into the new season full of hope and very positive."
Floors-2-(Finally)Gone
Work has begun rebranding the outside of the former Floors-2-Go stand at Edgar Street today - as the company itself is placed into Administration.
The 132 store retailer was already on rocky ground and was planning a number of store cuts, including the Hereford branch, which effectively ended their involvement in the Bulls at the end of last season although stewards at Edgar Street could still be seen sporting flourescent jackets with the flooring company logo on Tuesday night.
Floors-2-Go sponsored a string of stands across the country, and their demise is likely to be another hit to a number of already hard pressed football clubs. 41 of their stores will close immediately, with Administrations assessing the business in the short term.
For the Bulls their demise is unlikely to make much difference with Cargill stepping in to take sponsorship of the old Len Weston Stand, but the financial crisis is likely to take its toll on pitchside advertisers. Estate Agents Haart, who had four pitchside boards, pulled out of the city several weeks ago while a couple more local companies whose names featured on boards last season had gone bust prior to the summer renewals.
Owens tells Hall he can't multi-task!
Hereford United supporters who watched last night's friendly at Edgar Street may have heard Keith Hall, who usually covers the Bulls for BBC Hereford & Worcester, on the PA.
He was deputising for Matt Healy who was unavailable.
This morning, during the Howard Bentham programme, BBC H&W received a phone call from 'Joan'.
"I've had a call from 'Joan' in Hereford," said Bentham in the middle of Trevor Owens sports news. "She was at the Hereford/Bristol City game last night.
"She said it was lovely to hear Keith Hall doing the announcments on the PA system. Lovely and clear. Can he do it every week please?"
"Another job. A moon-lighter Keith Hall," said Bentham. "When he not commentating he's on the PA.
"Not when he is working for us," chipped Owens. "Difficult to do both jobs."
Pirates Trip All-Ticket
It has been announced today that the Bulls trip to Bristol Rovers on August 23rd is an all-ticket match.
The Bulls have been allocated 1200 tickets for the game, 200 of which are for seating, with Adult tickets priced at £15 (£17.50 seated) and Concessions - Over 65's, Under 16's, and Students with ID - £8 (£9.50).
Full details on how these tickets will be sold will be announced nearer the date.
Webby on the mend
Luke Webb is hoping that his nagging injury problems are finally behind him following corrective surgery during the close season. Webb went under the knife to clear up problems with his hip.
"They removed some cartilage and a small amount of bone growth in the hip joint."
"It's a problem I've had since I was young and it seems that it may have also been the cause of my longstanding back problem." "For years, my right side has been causing difficulties following a fall from a bike when I was probably just fourteen years old."
"I'm hoping the frustrating injuries are now behind me." "I've not missed a day's training since we came back to pre-season but the game against Birmingham was my first sixty minutes of real action so I needed give it a break tonight as it's important take the build-up carefully and monitor the progress."
News Round Up
Rotherham expect to hear today what punishment they will receive from the Football League for failing to agree a CVA, with a punishment of at least 15 points likely. Peterboro are to loan winger Alfie Potter to Kettering for the season. The 19 year old was part of Havant and Waterlooville's side that played at Anfield last season.
MK Dons have made their first summer signing by giving Austrian winger Florian Sturm a two year deal. The 26 year old was most recently with Swiss side FC Vaduz after spells in Swiss and Austrian football. Huddersfield are to sign released Blackpool midfielder Michael Flynn on a two year deal. The 27 year old played for boss Stan Ternent at Gillingham, where he was top scorer in 2006/7.
Crewe's new loan signing Jake Livermore will miss the first three months of the season after fracturing his fibula in their draw with Wrexham. Morecambe are set to offload Michael Twiss to Bury, with Gigg Lane two minutes from his house. Trialist Lewis Hunt has signed for Wycombe on a two year deal. He played for the Bulls against Kidderminster and Wolves during pre-season.
Cheltenham are to hold talks with Carlisle forward Kevin Gall. Manager Keith Downing was at Edgar Street last night and was seen talking to Gary Johnson, Gall's former boss at Yeovil, for half an hour with Steve Brooker also a Cheltenham target.

Robinson keen to put pen to paper.
Ashley-Paul Robinson is the player who trialed for The Bulls against Bristol City and he's well aware that time is running out to get attached to a club for the coming season.
"I was at Palace but not getting what I wanted so when the opportunity came to try at Fulham, I took the chance. I think they liked what they saw but said I needed to find a club that would give me the opportunity to get some real playing experience.
"I arrived in Hereford to play against Bristol not having even trained with the team. I'm probably only 70% fit at the moment so there's a lot more to come from me than was seen in that game.
"I'd like to stay and train here for this week and hope to get another chance to show what I can do in the next game. Although there is interest from a few other clubs, Hereford is my main focus at the moment as I need to get settled and get down to work. I’m officially unattached right now and need to get my future sorted."
BULLS 2 BRISTOL CITY 2
Tonight's pre-season fixture proved to be an interesting affair, which finished all square at Edgar Street this evening. The City side included million pound misfit Lee Trundle who demonstrated his full repertoire of sluggish movement, misplaced passes and inaccurate shooting. Bulls Supremo Graham Turner fielded a team arguably as strong as was available at this stage of the build-up but including a right wing trialist announced as David Carter who later admitted to being Ashley-Paul Robinson formally of Crystal Palace.
Early in the game, Scott Murray tested the increasingly impressive Samson in the United goal but it was Simon Johnson who had the first effective effort on goal. Receiving a deft flick-on from Guinan, he turned his marker and fired a rising shot just inches over Basso's crossbar. At the other end, Trundle tried to dink a ball to the far post but only succeeded in even missing the corner flag before spooning another opportunity over the bar from just eight yards. Samson brought off a fine save from Murray before a shot from Steve Brooker seriously threatened the shoe hanging in the roof of the Meadowend. Meanwhile, City trialist and former Leicester fullback Maybury was extremely fortunate not to see his sliced clearance end up in the Bristol net. Carter (Robinson) was showing some useful touches although his final ball left a little to be desired at times.
Whilst the first half produced some tidy watchable football, it was the second period that was to produce the goals. Simon Johnson made a break from midfield before releasing Done who's deep cross was headed just wide by Steve Guinan. But shortly after, The Bulls took the lead through Johnson. Diagouraga showed strength and skill to hold off the attention of Ribero before slipping a delightful through ball to Simon Johnson who smashed home passed the helpless Basso from just inside the box. Taylor and Threlfall then combined with the latter firing just wide. The Bristol equaliser came by way of a piece of pure theatre from Trundle. He chased a ball into the box and in so doing brushed shoulders with Dean Beckwith. The slight upper body contact caused both of Trundle's feet to fly into the air as he hit the ground like a shot elephant. Trundle converted the resultant penalty with a rare shot on target.
On the hour mark several changes were made with Smith replacing Threlfall and Jack MacLeod coming on for Carter (Robinson) while shortly afterwards, Guinan made way for Hudson-Odoi and Easton for Done.
Just short of half an hour into the second period, The Bulls again went ahead. Ben Smith's through ball was cleared for a corner, which was curled to the near post by Macleod. Young Irishman Garry Breen rose majestically to head his first goal in a United shirt. With ten minutes remaining, Darren Randolph replaced Samson but his first touch was to pick the ball out of the net when Scott Murray gave him no chance with a crisp volley from ten yards out for the final score of the game which was watched by just 830 including 155 from south of the Severn.
With a couple of pre-season games still to be played, there is expected to be a number of, as yet, unseen additions to the squad over the next week or so as Turner seeks to add more goal threat to his forces. No doubt the Gaffer is a busy man at the moment and speculation this evening suggests that one or two deals may already have been struck with loan players. The upcoming games against Southampton next Tuesday and West Baggage Albion on the Friday could well see a few surprises.
Hereford United: Samson, Rose, Threlfall, Breen, Beckwith, Done, Carter, Diagouraga, Taylor, Guinan, Johnson.
Subs: Jones, Hudson-Odoi, MacLeod, Easton, Moses, Smith, Randolph.
Bristol City: Basso, Maybury, Walker, Wilson, Ribero, Wilson, Murray, Betsy, Brooker, Trundle, Plummer.

Theo Robinson starts for Watford
Theo Robinson started for Watford this eveing in their friendly at near-by Boreham Wood, but there was no place in the squad for Lionel Ainsworth.
Watford won the game 3-1 with Robinson having an effort cleared off the line. Robinson will wear the no.18 shirt for the coming season, the number worn by Nathan Ellington last season.
Meanwhile Trevor Benjamin had another chance to show what he can do for Chester this evening in their friendly against Carlisle. Final score at the Deva Stadium 1-3.
Alex Jeannin is on trial at Mansfield where he played the second half of their trip to Ilkeston, while FC Halifax's first game in existence saw Craig Mawson face a second string Bury side in front of just over 1,000 fans as the new side won 1-0.
Robinson gets media attention
This article about this evening's trialist at Edgar Street appeared in the Guardian on July 8th.
Some transfers come to light only when a footballer is spotted relaxing on the yacht of a rival club's billionaire owner or dining at the favourite restaurant of their chief executive, but a young Crystal Palace player has moved the whole business into the modern era by posting details of a proposed move on his Facebook page.
Ashley-Paul Robinson, an 18-year-old winger who has been with the Championship side for five years, wrote a message on the social networking site announcing that he was having a trial with Fulham. His 194 Facebook friends were not the only people able to read exciting news of his dalliance with the Premier League club, however. The message could be seen by all 2.7m members of the site who have joined its London section, unwittingly breaking the story to supporters of both clubs and to anyone else in the capital interested in reading candid transfer gossip.
Robinson posted a message on Saturday which read: "Ashley-Paul is goin fulham on monday. If i pull dis off im on dis ting." On Sunday he added: "Ashley-Paul is travling 2 Bath With Fulham Fingers Crossed."
After news of the move spread, he posted a new message yesterday afternoon saying: "Ashley-Paul has been very naughty lol!"
Palace, however, have not found Robinson's frankness a laughing matter. "It's pretty embarrassing for the club that this guy is telling the world he's looking to leave the club," said a Palace source. "Perhaps someone should tell him to be a bit more private about what he's putting on the internet."
Robinson has been at Palace since he was a 14-year-old academy player and he broke into the first team at the end of last season, making his first-team debut as a late substitute against Preston North End in March. A month later he was offered a new contract by the club's manager, Neil Warnock, but a parting of the ways now seems inevitable. "We feel it's probably better that he looks elsewhere to further his career," said Warnock.
Ashley Robinson on Trial at Hereford
Bulls News can reveal that the trialist at Edgar Street this evening was Ashley-Paul Robinson.
He was with Crystal Palace for five years and has recently had a trial at Fulham.
Although he played on the right wing this evening he can also play on the left.
Robinson is 18.
Recently he spilt the beans about his trial at Fulham on facebook.
"It’s pretty embarrassing for the club. Perhaps he should be a bit more private about what he puts on the internet," said a Crystal Palace spokesperson.
Friendly Ends All Square
Hereford United drew their friendly with Bristol City 2-2 this evening in front of some 830 supporters including 155 from Bristol.
Scorers for the Bulls were Simon Johnson and Gary Breen.
Full report later.
New Trialist - David Carter
Hereford United have announced that there is one new trialist in their team for this evening's friendly against Bristol City.
However his name doesn't appear to be very well known!
There is no trace of him on the usual data-bases of players. The collective minds of the Press Box think he is Alistair John, who had a trial last summer, but Gillingham reported him to still be with them on trial - and currently injured - late this afternoon.
Meanwhile neither Ben Smith or Luke Webb are playing for the Bulls this evening. UPDATE 9.15: Smith came on as a sub despite not being listed in the squad. Score 2-2.
Starting XI: Samson, Rose, Threlfall, Breen, Beckwith, Done, Carter, Diagouraga, Taylor, Guinan, Johnson.
Subs: Randolph, Jones, Hudson-Odoi, MacLeod, Easton, and trialist Craig Moses.
FA create Independent Football Ombudsman
An Independent Football Ombudsman (IFO) is to be created in time for this coming season, replacing the existing Independent Football Commission (IFC).
The IFO will have a clear remit to receive and adjudicate on complaints from football supporters and participants which have not been resolved by the football authorities, and to raise any policy issues which have been highlighted by those complaints, directly with The FA, Premier League and The Football League.
Recently, say the FA, the football authorities and clubs have become much more effective in the way that they deal with their supporters, have adopted customer charters and improved their formal complaints procedures.
Current IFC Chair Professor Derek Fraser and IFC Commissioner Alan Watson will take on the role of IFO and Deputy IFO respectively, to provide continuity.
The creation of an Ombudsman would maintain a position as the independent and final arbiter of football complaints. The football authorities continue to be committed to the highest standards of self-regulation that have seen only 26 complaints referred to the IFC since 2001.
Hereford United Programme Subscription Details
Ron Parrot has just released details of the Hereford United Programme Subscription 2008/09 which he is running again this season.
I am pleasantly surprised to say that for the fourth season running the price of the home programme (Bullseye) will remain the same at £2.50 despite the fact that almost all away programmes for 2008/09 will retail at £3. However, as you probably know, the Post Office have introduced some weird and wonderful regulations about the size of packages as well as the weight and as a result there has again been an increase in postal charges and this has meant a price change here as well. This season’s rate will therefore be as follows: -
HOMES £70 (+£9 extra postage for overseas clients)
AWAYS £80 (+£9 extra postage for overseas clients)
As usual, I would point out that this covers all league issues only and any friendlies, cup matches etc. are regarded as extras. These are despatched to you as normal but are chargeable and you will receive a bill at the end of the season for settlement.
Please let me know ASAP which of the above you require and forward your cheque directly to me at the above address, ensuring that all cheques are made payable to Hereford United FC. In view of the price increase, I am again able to offer split payment to soften the financial blow a bit. If you would like to take advantage of this, let me have one cheque up front and the second by the end of December.
Many thanks for your continued support and let’s hope that we see yet another successful season!

The trouble is his girlfriend was naked, which got the attention of the players." Patulea scored a hat-trick on his debut but is contracted to a club in Romania.
